  1. Pretty sure the mk4 R32 runs 340mm discs. Need to get hold of an old one to mock up for the custom brackets and see what can be done.
  2. I have got a set of brembo 4 pots form the rear of a toureg to go on the front of the VR over the winter have trailed them on the 312's and they look like they will work fine but thinking if i am going to do it I might see if 340 from an R32 will fit. Just wondered if anyone had done it already? I am running TT comps so fair amount of room behind them.
  3. That would be cool mate if you could, going to get mine up in the air at the weekend and have a look., out of interest what are the mounting points for your current brace?
  4. Having made my own rear strut brace, I am now tempted to make a lower front one, has anyone got a picture of one fitted? Any help would be great, not had a chance to have a proper look at where I can mount it, will have a look when i fit the new exhaust at the weekend. Luke
  5. I used the folia-tec stuff you used to be able to get in halfords, then added about 5 coats of lacqure which i sanded back smooth and polished up. Would sell the comps if i had something else to go on!!
  6. No just dropped it down the powdercoaters but it reacted when they coated it so they stripped it back and painted it, cost me a £10!
  7. It will be going back to black, was just a bit of fun and didn't cost me a penny. The washer bottle is a All Smiles one that i had in my last car that i had powdercoated gloss black.
  8. Going to split and tint the chrome inside if i ever get round to it! My latest bit of fun!
  9. Been a while since i have been on here so thought i would update the tread Done a few bits recently like HIDs and fitted my second inlet which i had done gloss black. And a couple of pics Think i may tint the headlights now and got a little idea for the engine bay that may come together in the next few days, also want to trim the headlining and change the steering wheel.

  11. Have picked up a couple of little bits over the last few days. First a set of bumper vents that replace the fogs and a complete 312mm brake set up, which means i can sell the calipers on as i don't need them! May also sell the discs and replace them with uprated ones along with new pads. Where do people get new longer bolts for the carriers from? want to fit these this week.
  12. Have spent all day today working on the car trying to get the exhaust to sit without knocking on the rear beam, have added poly hangers in the middle section and taken out some of the spacers on the rear backbox to try and make it sit higher. :banghead: Then spent about 7hrs detailing the car only done half of it!! :s Anyway heres what she looks like! Sorry for all the pics got carried away!

  15. Well the old girl failed its MOT last week on a couple of little things the main being that the top mounts where knackered, so thought it was a perfect time to swop to some coilies! New V Old top mounts No wonder it handled so bad! :eek Now with coilovers on and new MOT :yey Front is as low as it can go as it already scrapes getting it down the little road from my car port my drop the rear a touch more to get it to sit a bit more level.
  16. Gave the VR a quick wash and went to try and get some better pics of it with the comps on.
  17. Little update Finally got mu wheels back from the powdercoaters yesterday, have had the faces stripped and the insides and cutouts done gloss black. Need to spend a few hours polishing the faces up but don't look to bad at the moment. Got a mate to swop the tyres from my other wheels over to the TT's and with a 5mm spacer on the rear had them on! Also painted all my calipers grey to get rid of the rust look! Hopefully sort some 312mm soon.

Took the coil pack apart today and its quite rusty around the coils and one side sticks out about 1/2mm where as the otherside is flush and looks likeits been taken aprt before as the plastic tabs have been broken. I think its still the original one as its stamped up '97 which is the same year as the car.
  22. My vr has been off the road for the last 2 months over the winter, as the weather is good i taxed it and went to use it today, started and ran fine so when to put some petrol in and took a drive up the motorway to blow the cobwebs away, get a few miles up the road and the car starts miss firing really badly! Limped to my parents house and took the plugs out and they seemed fine (they where new about 6 months ago and have only done about 3000 miles.) Put back in still miss firing, so we put a timing strobe on each lead just to see if they where sparking evenly, and it looks like the 2 leads o

Anyway after a quick call from my mate rob saying there was a set of TT rims going cheap on the bay i put in a bid and won for £123! NOt exactally the most original rims on a mk3 but will do for the time being and will add a bit of bling once they have been polished. On the car with the standard 225/45/17's soon to be changed for the tyres of the RS6 rims. Also need to get some spacers for the rears. Finally got round to getting the ends of my
