312mm brake conversion (TT setup) write up / DIY
C3 LJG replied to Mark.'s topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
Thanks mate don't suppose he can get any more, or do you know the specs of the bolts needed etc? I have been offered a set of 312mm discs, calipers, pads and brackets off a mate for £100, and should be able to sell the calipers on as i can use my existing ones, so can make a bit of money back on them. -

Where would i get some longer bolts that are good enough for this conversion? -
Looks cool mate! Very tidy looking car. What wheels are those?

A full paint correction job you would probably be looking at anything upwards of about £200 most people charge between £25-£35 an hour so it would depend how bad the car is and what you want done. If you want to get it done at anytime give me a shout and we can sort something out. (its my job)

Spent a few hours on the VR this morning, as the tax ran out on New Years eve and i am not going to tax it for a few months as it will not really be used while the weather is poop. This is probably the dirtiest one of my cars has been in years!!!!! So after a wash and a quick going over with some polish and wax just to keep it protected while she is undercover there will be a full detailing session ready for the show season. And now tucked up under cover in my car port. Got a few plans for it while its off the road and hopefully a new set of wheels as soon as i can find some mon

Been messing around with the VR lately, thought i would start to tidy up the engine bay as it was looking a bit of a state and after fitting the new header tank really showed the rest of it up!! (the red bit of hose will be replaced with black as soon as i have ordered some more!) Started by removing air filter and covering a few bits, then went at it with various degreasers/engine cleaners and an assortment of brushes/cloths!! Didn't do much for the road  Once i had got rid of a lot of the crap dressed all plastics, polished the air com pipes and added a polished cap to the po

Got them from the local Audi dealer paid less than £30 for them, they go for more on ebay!! If you order some you will need the normal clutch, brake pedal covers but you will need to order a LHD accelerater pedal.

Have added a few bits to the golf over the past few weeks. Got a polo gear knob and a set of TT pedals fitted inside and gave the leather a good clean. Picked up a set of FK bumper vents at OE at the weekend and fitted them today. Have also started working on bits for the engine bay to start tidying that up. My old bezza engine bay was full of polished/chromed bits, have decided to keep the new one black with polished/chrome accents. When i sold the bezza i keep the polished header tank and All Smiles washer bottle. I have had them powdercoated black and will be using polished caps on

I had 2 sets on my ibiza cupra and really liked them, where a lot better than the pagid fast roads i had before and worked very well on the nurburgring in the summer.

Yeah they do flash quite red, but a bit better now with orange bulbs, may try some led bulbs, but from directly behind they aren't to bad. Have kept the old ones for MOT time tho! I used a whole can on the two lights and about 4/5 coats of lacquer so hopefully they will be alright, i only had a problem with them fading on my ibiza when they were unlacquered. Have to wait and see 8-|

Yeah all sorted now cheers! Had to pop the catch out of the handle from the inside then the door would open, have now bent the catch to give more pull, and seems to have worked. Fingers crossed!!

Been sorting a few bits over the last few days, started off by getting some crystal clear rear lenses [img width=640]http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b64/C3LJG/VR6/Picture014Medium.jpg then i set about tinting them [img width=640]http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b64/C3LJG/VR6/Picture015Medium.jpg i left them over night to fully go off then today added several coats of lacquer, which when dry i rubbed down [img width=640]http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b64/C3LJG/VR6/Picture020Medium.jpg [img width=640]http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b64/C3LJG/VR6/Picture021Medium.jpg after being polished
