    good shout geezer. what about darkening the headliner? any ideas anyone? and does anyone know if an audi 3 spoke leather steering wheel (as fitted to non airbag audi s2's, rebranded VW obviously) would fit in my car as is? Rob

    right guys, please help. my VR is brilliant black on the outside, but a crazy and confused blue on the inside. seats, dash, carpet, the whole frigging lot! what id like to know is...... how hard is it to remove the dash, to replace it with a black one, same with all the carpet, white pillar trim, etc, AND, how can i turn the headlining black / dark grey? my old gti mk2 was all black inside and i really liked it that way. thanks in advance.     awful noise

    just drove back from the shop, as i was pulling off in first, i heard an awful noise like my spoiler scraping on the floor. checked, all as should be. pulled off again, same scratchy, grindy noise, only in first gear, i can feel something through the gear knob, feels like a gear not quite engaged properly. car still seems to drive as normal. any ideas anyone? guys, this is going to get expensive isnt it?     the japanese are great at making 'fisher price' 'my first pokeyish car' but its so sad they all look so sh*t the kids need to festoon them with fibreglass aero shi*houses, only to discover that.......... they still look shi*. look and see how many chavved up japs there are out there, for sale why? this weeks autotrader has almost hundreds of imprezzas. one vr6. you do the math as the americans would say. my Vr turned over 180k today and the doors still slam like bank vaults. so f*ck off!     maybe people, kids, whatever, would spend less time frigging around if there was a real detterant. i propose a system whereby we have a network of correctional facilities. lets call them 'prisons' for arguments sake. any felon would know, before the crime that should they get caught, they will be taken, forthwith, to a place where they will recieve punishment in the form of being locked away without anything that could constitute fun or enjoyment, for a period of time etc etc etc etc etc etc oh sorry, we tried that. turns out its still ok to smoke in prison but not the pub.....................

    it could be utterly accidental, either over medication for an evenings peace and quiet, leading to a groggy maddy falling down the stairs, or an angered parent getting a bit carried away in a rage. i have seen parents totally upset their kids on a family holiday here in my pub. had to step in on one occaision. didnt like the dad hitting his kid. either way creche facilities were available for the mcanns for a tiny sum, on site and i cant understand how either of these parents have the cheek to be on tv at all, crying or not. if they did have any involvement, they have to live with that the re

    two sorts. my mech mate ordered both as even local parts place were not sure even with reg number etc. the one with the screw was the wrong one. the one i needed was the black plastic one that just slips on. hopefully not off. mechanic once again commented on how well bolted together the whole of this vr appears to be. shame he bought a scooby! cheers guys.     all sorted. rotor arm, if anyone is interested, was just about welded on, had to chisel it off. two spring clips hold cap on, i numbered the leads, anti clockwise around so only had to remember where one of the leads had to go. refitting reversal of removal style.car now runs like an old high milage dream!     anyone got any top tips on replacing the dizzy on my vr? parts came this morning, i will make my attempt at replacement from 3pm, and if my car no run, i will be missing out on a very hot date this evening. failure is not an option! Rob

    admittedly standard susp is a little wooly, but it can be improved dramatically for not much money. dont you care about how the car handles? do you consider this a performance modification? or is it because you think 'the honeyz' like this sort of thing? im sorry to keep harping on about my old mark 2, but it was factory standard, and a 5 door. girls loved it. shame they were a bit young! lol. i fully appreciate its each to their own, my VR would probably send you to sleep its so factory. any lower will require a roof chop. might be better to buy a taller garage.     i have all new plugs and leads. would not the smell of fuel be unburnt mixture as no spark? does it still do it if you feather the car? like very careful not full on throttle opening? Rob
