  1. lol yeah y were you bidding! - got a trigger finger for F5 on ebay so they do have the holes for the jets its just a case of refitting them, cool.
  2. ive got a jetex 3 box and its a real sleeper until you get to 3000 revs and then the beast is unleashed sounds nice but not over the top - just lets people know it has some 'bigballs'
  3. ive just snaped one up for bargain price! so ill have some mk4 style head lights for sale soon! where do the washser jets go as ive just looked on the pic and it doesnt seem to have any washer jets and so now im worried! also the paint code for my car - dragon green, doesnt say its pearled but on the V5 it says it has a pearl so im a bit confused on that too! anyone clarify either of the points for me please? cheers B.
  4. sorry to but in but im also saving the funds for some tuning, what about intercoolers? is that just for turbo applications or is that just more expense instead of aquamist / oil cooler. also what sort of upgrade do you need for breaks and exhaust? im running the 288 zimmerman xdrilled fronts and stock rears with a 2.5" jetex Cat back system. ideally should i be getting 312's 4 pot brembos off the cupra leon and a full 2.5" manifold, down pipe + decat? sorry for butting in but like i say ive also been undecided whether to go 268's and a VSR or just cut the losses and go for more boom and get
  5. how do you pop the front off the door grip without chewing the edge of the grips off? im scared that if i push a screwdriver up itll kink the plastic grip!
  6. cheers for the input so far guys youve been TONNES more helpful than the cock in caraudiocentre in notts. Who when i enquired about a specific alpine headunit thats on their site tried to say that i had to pay postage on it as thats 'the internet price'! but getting back to it.... to wire the amp from the head unit can i use the pre amp out RCA's on that and the disconect the stock cables in the doors and then wire decent cable to them back out from the amp and into the doors? that sounds like a right bitch to do! theres gotta be a guide on how to remove door cards somewhere?? anyone got a

SOUNDS INTERESTING! care to expand as id love to get comps in all doors and amp them and see if i can do away with the sub - the speakers have gotta go down to 40 ish hz tho. i never had to removr the seats when i did my sub cant i bridge the feed for 2 amps via a choc block? or do i have to run 2 feeds of the battery. i dont want to go deafeningly loudi just like a well powered deep tone!
  8. im thinking of getting a new head unit as the input on my headunit has croaked out. just having a look about and ive seen some nice alpine head units and im thinking of pairing it up with an amp for my speakers. basically im just wondering if anyone has an amped set of components wired it themselves and could help give me a clue about doing it myself. ive fitted the headunit and fitted just some lanzar 6.5" door speakers + sub but ive only wired my sub before but found it straightforward so i guess i need the info on wire colours and some ideas on where to fit the amp + get power to it! cheers
  9. i was looking for similar too! what sorts of price did people pay to have them fitted and is it worth doing any other maintenance / tuning while the engine is stripped? At 89K im still 11K shy of chains being done would that be right in thinking? someone had a thread on doughtys a while back, seemed to have good reviews.
  10. cheers mate, had a bit of a hectic day darting to and from the garage and a breakers i use for bits in between work jobs! - infact hes got a VW VSR manifold for sale and its SICK!, but thats by the by- sorted out the misfire - he'd slipped with pliers removing the spark plugs and caught a HT lead (although i later found out the spark plug removal tool is on the bonnet strut, DOH!) and the ABS light has gone back off, which im undecieded on so i think im still gonna get it commed somewhere as i got told at the VW yard that it could be play on the bearings or a loose connection.

  12. ive had the car in for some work - ive had it dropped, serviced and new front disks put on now when i turn the ignition the ABS light stays on bwhich is a bit worrying! im just wondering what i can tell the guy to check in terms of connections etc, BTW ive not had new pads as they were ok so i think they were just inspected and put back. also apparently i might need a new HT lead and im wondering if im gonna have to buy a new set or i can buy specific ones? please help cos its broke me when i got told it was mis- firing and the ABS light was on when i was expecting to be driving it tonight!
  13. anyone riding on apex dampers? ive found a full set of them for £130 + P+P. H+R, KONI and Eibach are all £200+ for a good reason, but dont have a 5yr guarantee like the apexs? whats the ride like on them??
  14. see ive heard people blowin for these pads but on the other hand ive heard people saying they arent much better than a stock pad so just wondering what the VR boys are saying as thats specific. have you got the EBC greens?
  15. as title really, ive got a service due thurs / friday and was just wondering what pads people recommend on here? its 'just' stock obd2 with a K+N panel so just wondering what people stop with and where to get them from reasonably easy/ cheap??
  16. right im looking at some wheels that are 7.5x16 9x16 rears with 215 tyres no height size given would i need spacers if im on a 35mm drop as im having it done next week and just wondering if ill need anything else, such as having the backs rolled? if so what does it involve and what sort of price would i be looking at on average for such work?

  18. ive got the setup your on about - i had it sleeved to fit when i had my 1.8 golf but is the correct size for the 2.8L no sleeves req'd
  19. do you think if i fill the tubes with compressed air from a can of air duster/ spray that id be able to get a small amount of pressure into the nipple just to see if it holds its charge like a tightness test as such? If i get it vagcommed will that highlight the fault as ive been quoted £50ish to get it tested - or is that a rip off, anyone know where i can get it done cheaper/ reccomend anyone to do it?
  20. ive got the climatronic setup on my P reg VR and when i start the car up it takes around 30 secs. for the lcd screed to stop flashing and to be able to control the fan as that starts to blow also - is this to do with it measuring the temps as its just been started up? also the A/c doesnt blow cold - ive checked to see if there is any gas in there but when i pushed the valve in there was no gas - could this be a case of it not being gassed up and is there a telltale sign if the compressor had packed in as someone mentioned that could also be a fault? cheers B.

  22. yo mate your from notts........go see the guys at VW/audi breakers in basford just off chrch street. they have 4 VR6 engines sat in there atm so the chances are theres gonna be a vr6 cat! oh and the owner is selling his tricked out VR6 charged + VW VSR manifold + other shit for like £5k
  23. right im at 79K and due a service. ive got a few extra treats to go on - springs and x-drilled disks - and im wondering whats due for swapping? i know a decent mechanic thats gonna do it for me but his equipment is pretty non specific to VW so i was just wondering if hell need any extra tools too.
