  2. most likely your coil pack, look for cracks in it, this causes the same symptoms

  6. hi m8, had a good look on the prop (the thing that props the bonnet up yeah?) its just a metal pole thing with nothing clipped to it, nothing in the boot except for a jack and locking wheel nuts etc. Spoke to the previous owner who new nothing about it.

  9. might have been the halfrauds dimmwit that wired it up, I have to turn it on and off as well ignition doesnt do it.
  10. Mine used to site between 102-115!! until I stuck a new oil cooler in and bang! 90-102 now
  11. sure when u turn on the ignition whilst pressing the trip button makes the clocks behave similar, but when you turn the ignition off it reverts back to the usual, not sure if the problem you are having is related or not.
  12. Think mine stopped straight after I fitted an aftermarket stereo alaways thought if was something to do with the wiring and the stereo, tried changing the switch in the door made no difference

  14. I've heard they are better on the ob1 engines as they dont use platinum plugs, went for the Bosch coil pack and NGK plugs off Vdubgirl very good price £174 all in. I work at a Seat delaership quite a lot and get cost price parts (or near enough) and the cheapest the could do the coil pack was £145+vat and the plugs £6.79+vat ea. Crazy
  15. yeah I don't think these ones are platinum, maybe should stay clear and go for VW ones (6.75ea) or NGK (5.50ea)

  21. My VR6 has been missing is the lower rev range when the engine was warm since I've had her, now recently it seems to have been getting worse and missing whilst cold as well. This morning is was raining (very finely spitting) and when I started her she gave off a very unhappy rumble, I slightly blipped the throttle and she missed like hell and lost power. Switched off and checked the oil, she needed some and was just on the min mark, filled her up, started her and off I went...on the way back home another big miss and a rumble from under the bonnet/car, parked her up outside the flat lifted th
