  1. Was in my local garage for a quote on suspension work and he has pointed out i'm loosing a small amount of water from the left hand side of the engine [from front of car], and that basically my water pump is shot and needs replacing soon. Car drives well with no real issues [cat excluded] but has been loosing a little bit of water [about half pint a week]. Had look myself and found this. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a215/FlyingAnt008/DSC00010.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a215/FlyingAnt008/DSC00009.jpg There is also a clicking coming from the same area which can be heard and seen
  2. Any kit you would lean towards? Been looking on Volks bits as well they have rear adjustable kits for similar money.
  3. Been looking for an adjustable suspension kit for a reasonable price and came across this but it just seems too cheap. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280028348592&fromMakeTrack=true Any thoughts???? Any current/previous users???? And yes coil overs would be the preference but i just can't warrant it financially as much as i would like them. Cheers.
  4. Ah- jus checked the link and it only shows the picture? i thought it showed the whole page [thought i'd checked it?]... Auction finished at 9.00pm tonight, hence why no time for measuring etc and no the seller didn't come back to me anyway. Got it anyway[!?]... need to make changes to my zorst and at worst i get a new suitcase baffler out of it. Sorry for any confusion caused dudes.
  5. That still won't tell me the length of the one for sale though..? Can't see how that will help?
  6. Ah right... so there isn't really any way of knowing. Already messaged the seller ref year etc, no answer yet... Oh well... see if i'm feeling lucky. Cheers dude.
  7. Split my cat the other night and found this on the bay. Been told that there are three types of cats available for the vr? Mine is a 96 ob2, 5 door. Looks like the right connection but mines never had a heat shield and has a muffler after the cat whereas this has a pipe? Any ideas? http://i12.ebayimg.com/07/i/000/81/5b/3c7a_1.JPG [hopefully that works...]
  8. Great to meet everyone last nite. God i want to go to the ring so much now. Thanks craggsy for vag com- one less thing to worry about. [Note to self... must get car lowered before next meet - it looked like she was on stilts!].
  9. Split [or cracked] my cat (li) [and not the furry kind (@) ]. Having looked - this has caused other damage to my already problematic exhaust system which is doing my head in. Anyway i will be somewhat noisier than normal tomorrow. Will still be there but may be little late as hadn't realised the mighty Tottenham Hotspurs where on the box.
  10. I too will be there. Looking forwards to it.
  11. Hey hey. Not been on the site for a little while and just stumbled across this thread -sounds like a great idea. :-p In Peterborough but always looking for an excuse to go for a drive- esp if there are other vr's present. 8-|

Was a while ago, apart from the net i just tend to phone round the local tyre yards and ask what offers they have on. Good luck in your search anyway.

Ahh right... Mines standard height at the mo- just was parked on a tilted drive. lol Prob should mention i hadn't had the vr long and was driving the car... well- hard, with no more than 500 miles motorway driving in there and lots of roundabouts. :-p oh and in answer to the original question, £62.50 each fitted [but that was a year n a bit ago...]

Currently running Eagle F1's on the rear- awesome grip! Previously run toyo proxes on the front and they were sticky as hell both in the wet and dry once warmed up, but didn't last too long...
  16. Give the recommended insurers on the site a call for a quote or visit confused.com and get quotes there. Ref the price- best of luck.
  17. Cheers Jimbo99. Got lucky, the cat was weldable and seem to of found a decent mechanic in the process. Prob go for the de-cat when the current exhaust goes and i get a decent stainless steel system on her. Cheers anyway.
  18. Okay... 8o| Split/knackered my Catalytic converter last night, accelerating hard off a roundabout. Ouch (li) . Dismissed the main stealer option instantly due to cost. Currently looking at the fix it welding option but have been told depends where its damaged etc and lots of ifs. Or, if this isn't possible which i suspect [knowing my luck] i seem to have 2 options. Buy new patent part cat- been quoted £160 fitted but have doubts ref this price as seems just too cheap compared to net equivalents. or... Buy a cat from breakers get the car mot'd and purchase a decat pipe for her- whats the sco

    Admiral.

Yer they did me a good deal a while ago. !lol Watch what mods you go for with them though... !grr like to charge through the nose for adding stuff on mid policy term. They also i believe can be a touch fussy which mods they will and won't allow- i called them last week ref dropping the suspension and they do allow it just no more than 50 mil. [having said that i dont know how i would stand ref coilovers?] Quoted a policy increase of £20 odd quid so bearable on this occasion but having paid £50 for non standard 17" alloys this was something of a relief. !grr Hope this helps with your mod
  22. Any of you guys [or girls] heard of Lesjofors springs from Sweden?? ?! Found lots of stuff online but naff all ref vw. I know they make B&G and Kilen[?] springs but not alot else. R they any good?? ?!
