  1. Mine dose it to. Stoped worring about it now, just stoped checking my mirror when going down hill.
  2. I'v got one on my mk2 vr and it should have a 2 bolts with springs and a swivel gasket that bolts to the 3 holed flange. Hope that makes sense. Also if your cars really low you may find it catches the anti roll bar and needs denting in a bit.
  3. Mines the same.Smokes when i let off the throttle and the stem seals were done with the head gasket so has to be the oil rings. Going to leave mine as the compressions still good and it goes ok still.
  4. How dificult is it to fit an obd2 engine into a car with obd1. Can i fit the obd1 inlet manifold to the obd2 engine and swap a few sensors or is it more involved? Thanks.
  5. Seen these in the demon tweeks catalouge and was wondering how much difference they make. Iv got a obd1 vr with enlarged throttle body, 6 branch manifold and a cold air ind kit. Not chipped so would this be a good alternative?
  6. Sure the fire brigade have better things to do. !lol
  7. Thanks guy's you'v all confirmed what i was thinking. Just get paranoid some times. Engines smooth as ever and the oil light goes straight out on start up. he did try to knock me down
  8. hi just had a bloke come round to veiw my vr6 and his mechanic told me theres a couple of thing wrong with it. the first is the maf meter. He told me that the car isnt pulling as hard as it should and this is down to the maf, is this right? Cant say iv noticed it get slower. the other thing he told me is that i have a lazy oil pump. on start up you get a brief rattle but thats it? should i get it looked at or is there an easy way to tell?
  9. Im in that sort of mood at the moment. just put my mk2 vr up for sale cos im fed up with it sitting on my parents drive not getting used enough. Then every time i do drive it i fall in love with it again. Dont know what to do.
  10. Seen similar on a custom motor bike made out of bullet proof glass.
  11. Forgot to say it's obd1 if it makes a differance. Cheers
  12. This has probably been asked before but when dose a vr need to be chiped? so far iv fitted an induction kit, six branch manifold and an inlarged throttle body. Soon il be fitting 268^ cams that im getting on the group buy. Was wondering if it will damage the engine to still run a standard chip. will be getting it remaped in the near future but not straight away.
  13. I brought a coil pack chip from the same bloke. mine wouldnt even start. Did refund my money straight away though.
  14. Can be done if your light footed. Managed 36 once, didnt stay that way for long though.
  15. Whats the most outrageous claim you've heard anyone make? I was talking to a bloke with an opel monza at the weekend who claimed there was only 17 left in the world and that it would do 135 mph in second. !amazed Now im no expert on opels but it did sound a bit unlikely.
  16. If it comes with 3 months warantee then i would'nt worry.
  17. Stainless wont rust but check if it's mig or tig welded. If they use mild steel mig wire to weld the exhaust that can rust. The brown on the edge of the weld is probably just from the heat of welding.
  18. Low 90's most of the time and 106 max on the motorway.
  19. Cnc turner, making ultra high vacuum components.
  20. Mine was already smoothed inside. Worth doing, every little helps.
  21. Would the turbo kit need a copper h/gasket or is it low boost?
  22. Got a noticed increase in power, made 199.9bhp and 186lb/ft of torque with just this and an induction kit. Engine noise is slightly differnt now but not really noticable.Sounds awsome now iv fitted an inlarged t/b though, get a whisling sound from the air filter. Mine is the raceland manifold btw.
  23. I'v had mine fitted about 6 months now witn no problems.Notice an increase in engine bay temp and am going to make a healt sheid to go under the t/b.If you use thermo wrap them damp it down with water to stop you itching. Uprated engine mounts are a good idea as well to stop the manifold cracking.
