  1. you ever been to jail for anything ingham??
  2. looks like hes run out of bb`s needs to spend more time tidying up than shooting things!
  3. i think they only list 18 8.5 j for a vw fitment now, they used to list a 8x 17 but i dont think you can get them anymore?
  4. no i am sure they are BBS LM`S, rial might do simmilar ones? i spoke to this guy last year at gti international (between rain storms!) he was saying how much work it had taken to get the rims to fit, especially the rears due to the clearance when the rear beam pushes the wheel forward as the suspension goes down under load, i think he had modded the sills to acommodate the wheels!!
  5. i like having a fight with mine! especially in the wet! lets you know your alive when you get it all bent out of shape!
  6. mine has 86k, no signs of any probs and runs sweetly, hope the cap cures yours, mine too !shy like i said its happened to me before, like you say its the cheapest part to try!
  7. they are BBS LM`s so i guess they are 18x8.5 all 4 its a size they list to fit a mk4 golf or R32 (they cost about £500 each without tyres!), I recognise the number plate!! but i dont know who owns it.
  8. just for you velocity boy, i conceed THIS ONE is an awesome car! but marcus gronholm didnt have to value it just abuse it !amazed still rather have a proper car like this though!
  9. mine has just started spitting a bit of water from the header bottle too! same cics as your no oil or anything etc, pressure is normal in pipes etc and no other symptoms of hg failure, sometimes if you fill the bottle too much it blows the excess out when it expands, its the design of the header tank overflow to get rid of this water, i had the same issue with my rallye golf and putting a new cap on the header tank solved it! so i will be doing the same again next week with the vr, header cap valves are a bit prone to failing after a few years use it appears! that said mines been on the car 10
  10. "talk steer"???? surely you mean "tourque steer"??? which is the pleasant/unpleasant sensation (depends on how you view it) when a car has so much grunt ie "torque", it rips the wheel out of your hands and train rails the wheels in a direction they choose to go! bit like a vr6 does if your not carefull with it!!! sounds like you have a good job, but come on! that blue oval isnt a patch on the is it????????????????
  11. i dont condone drug use! its a funny pic though, bit like an albino bob marley each to their own and all that, and remember "only users lose drugs"
  12. doh 1000 aplle ogies! standard rims are 6 1/2 j ooops , do you really need the arches done for the 7 j ones though? as i said my 8 j ones only very slightly touch on hard corners! the thing i said about the rear 1/4 is that the two halves so to speak are spot welded around tje arch lip, as jay says if you cut this it can take the strength out and cause it to distort, i think most garages roll and fold back the inner part, i have heard this can cause water traps and rust though!! eeek!! best to ask ask six appeal, he has had major arch work on the rears of his, i am sure he will tell you what t
  13. i though you just rolled the metal on the existing inner part of the arch? just the lip bit? i have heard if its done incorectly and the 2 halves (inner and outer) skins can seperate and it wrecks the car!! maybe the cut stops this happening? which if rebonded i guess would stop them seperating? not sure???? you shouldnt even need your arches rolled for 7 j rims standard width rims are 7 j anyway! my 8`s only just touch sometimes and its low, the rolling radius of a 205 50 15 and a 205 40 17 are virtually identical bar a few mm mate
  14. bearings sound right, just a slight bit of play on the wheel when its up in the air is ok, regarding the front have you checked caliper clearance is ok on the front rims? or it may be you have some ware in your front bearings that is just coincidental with the change over?
  15. i will have to get a photo of me in the "canabis jungle" next time we do a cultivation raid!!!!!!
  16. yeah normal trolley jack is fine, just dont do it on the outer sill!! or the floor pan!!! there is a substantial part of the floor designed to be jacked on look under you can see it at the front underneath just back from where the wing meets the sill.
  17. pete! heres one of my better side!

  20. top car mate, really liking the look, the interiors lovely, you need to test those brembos out and shine them discs up
  21. does that mean youll change your name to RH ZW 1 in the not too distant future mate have you been qouted on the ZW1`S ??? the rc`s look good too! but the dish type rims look good on a cabby though imo, just a thought but i suppose BBS LM`S are just tooooo dear! but they would look awesome on your motor! 8)
