I've managed to bust the little ear washer jet nozzle (the little bit with the pin hole in it that washer fluid comes out of). How do i replace this part as i am a bit tired of having a filthy rear window. thanks

asked windscreen replacement centre for advice, said they would charge £10 for black sealant. Went to halfrauds and bought a tube of loctite sealant for £4.99, contained enough sealant to do the job (still used the 3 bolts and nuts just to be safe), all now sorted. thanks for the advice

HOW DO I FLUSH & REPLACE COOLANT
jonnyedinburgh replied to jonnyedinburgh's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
thanks for the advice. my aux pump didn't make any noise before it started leaking, i'm just pleased i found out it was leaking before it busted big time and dumped coolant everywhere! i bought my aux pump (bosch genuine part) from eurocarparts... £69.95 + VAT (free delivery). New pump has 4 screws to hold it together better (old one wasn't screwed and pulled apart easily) I've bought mobil 1 advanced coolant, same spec as VW G12+ and recommended by VW (doesn't require distilled water, tap water is fine) £15.00 for 5 litres from Halfrauds. Aux pump was a c*nt to fit due to the fiddlyness of -
Just had a new tailgate and rear window fitted, just need to refit the spoiler. I notice the spolier was 'glued' with a sticky tar like substance as well as being bolted to the glass with 3 bolts... any advice on this black stuff, should i use it to fit the spoiler, if so where do i get it? thanks

ABS & MOT
jonnyedinburgh replied to jonnyedinburgh's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
I've seen another VR where the abs /airbag lights are replaced by the unit from a Golf CL which only has the airbag light on it... would this pass MOT as it looks as if no ABS fitted? seems to be a very neat solution if it would pass -
Just replaced aux water pump, now want to completely drain cooling system and refill. I;'ve also got some holts stuff to remove deposits in the system. I've read various bits on this site advising how to changes coolant. Is anyone able to confirm the following? - i want to drain the system using th bottom rad hose, is this the thin one to the bottom left of the rad when stood facing the engine? - will draining this way completley drain the system? what position should the heater be set to to ensure no water is left in the matrix? - when refilling the system i've read that it shouldn't be done

If the ABS control module is removed from the vehicle would the car pass an mot. I ask as i think my abs pump is knacked and it will cost a fortune to replace. is there any way to get the car through an MOT without spending the dosh on the pump? thanks

I've found when fitting coolant hoses that they can be a bugger to get over flanges. Is there anything I can use to lube the hose or flange or is there some special technique I should try? thanks

Check out ebay, vr6 bentley manual available on cd for under a tenner. -
While trying to find the source of a small coolant leak I was trying to remove a hose from the aux water pump flange. The plastic bottom half of the water pump has come away from the metal top half! The two parts do not fit together now they have become separated (made a crack noise when it came apart), can anyone advise if this is sealed in the factory or can it be resealed by me? I think the leak was coming from the aux water pump as there was water collecting under it but further inspection after removing the pump has eliminated any of the coolant hoses as the source. How much for a genuin

I'm sure i read elswhere on the forum that this can be caused by the PCV hose needing replaced, i bought a new one and connector from VW for bot

I had the fuel pump, fuel press regulator, fuel filter all replaced before the speed sender, v costly all in all (not my fault, was informed by the garage.... found out the hard way!). Anyway, first sign of a problem was the car stalled last december. Then did the same a week later. Then more regularly (each time i drove). Then after 2 weeks i had to keep revving the engine to stop it stallling. In the end it was almost impossible to drive without looking like a right tit! Sitting at lights in a VR revving the arse out of it is not great, well not after a fortnight anyway. Good luck %-6

Speed sender part no. for my 93 VR is 021 906 433A. Good luck!

the golf vr6 is too heavy
jonnyedinburgh replied to matrix's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
Quite amusing reading all these opinions. I personally agree that Nova's are sheeeeeeeeite! If I owned a scoobie or M3 i'd probably consider a lightly modded VR poor in comparison. There will always be someone with a better car, unless you own an enzo! -

URGENT HELP - worst nightmare come true
jonnyedinburgh replied to cadguy77's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
buy em direct from magnecor. -
I had exactlyu the same problem... dip the clutch while braking, revs get down to bout 1000 rpm, engine stalls. I had the fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter, fuel pump all replaced, no joy. In the end it was the engine speed sensor that was fooked, got all the work done at a garage, cost a lot of money in labour before fault was eventually found. !sad

Anyone use engine flush?
jonnyedinburgh replied to cliveyp's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
I've used wynn's flush (available from halfrauds) a couple of times now, just added to old oil, run for 15 minutes, drained, fitted new filter and new oil. No problems. I can see the logic in filling with crap oil etc after flush, i'm too lazy for that! Anyway, no problems to report. -
Buy em direct from Magnecor! I bought 8.5 mm red leads, great spec. and look sh*t hot when fitted! Used a really sharp chisel to chip the little runner clips off the plastic cable tray, the leads are then pushed snugly into the runner. Highly recommended. Buy the 8mm blue leads if you'd rather not change the runner set up.

I'm interested in how you can fit a CAT with the innards taken out and still pass an MOT.... I bought my VR without the cat fitted, come MOT it was failed for emmissions, now it has been refitted permanently (done for last MOT) and passed emmissions. I have noted absolutely NO difference in performance OR noise! I have a supersprint system fitted, car makes a pleasing noise but REALLY quiet compared to my old MK1 GTI which had a powerflow exhaust... that was too much! If your car has say, 200bhp and you gain 1-5 bhp without Cat, then that only equals 0.5 - 2.5% power gain, not really enough to
