hmm, it seems to be a bigger noise than that and most likely the airbox side of the engine. Maybe its just what the engine sounds like...

Doesnt go away with clutch in. you can hear it when revving in neutral. Sounds a bit like belt noise (not slipping). Thought it might be the ribbed belt but changed that and regreased the tensioner pully and no different.

One thing that confuses me. When driving from cold, the water temp gets to normal (90) in about 4 mins, whereas the oil temp takes about 10 mins just to get to about 70? why is that then?

Ok, heres a thread about all the noises ive been hearing and wondering if they are normal. 1. On cold mornings, why does the VR sound like a milk float till it warms up. If its normal youll know what i mean. 2. I seem to have a constant sssshhhh sound coming from the engine. Rises and falls with engine speed and most noticeable around 1500 revs in 1st (as engine noise drowns it out at other times). It just seems to make the engine sound harsh... Any ideas people? :?

Friend of mine has been doing it for years. Thought it was very illegal though.. Its always funny going to tesco and getting a whole trolly of oil!!

Hi, im looking at the Neuspeed ARB's. It states the front as 25mm, but there are 2 for the back, 25mm or 28mm. Is there much difference? Also, do the front and back have to be done at the same time?

Last time i had a VW service they told me my axle beam bushes needed doing - £300ish at VW. Bugger! i thought. Bought the part from them and planned to get it done elsewhere to save on labour. Just come back from the garage and they say theres nothing wrong with them, its just the little lip of rubber round the edge peeling off and the actual bush is as good as new. So i have a couple of hundred spare to spend on something else, and a pair of bushes for sale if anyone interested...

Acf8181, is the clip your talking about "1H0 881 449"? i do seem to be missing it but thats certainly not the end of the problem. The driver seat glides up and down the rail and clicks into each hole, whereas the passenger seat scrapes up and down and only clicks in if i pull the front of the seat up...

Actually, now im looking at it in the light. I can get it to lock in any of the holes, but you need to wiggle the front of the seat up and down a bit so the pin goes through the hole. It doesnt slide particularly well either. Is there supposed to be a runner or something in the channel...(?) Anyone know a connected part number so i can look on ekta?

hey all. I have a passenger seat problem. It doesnt click into the positions (well only right at the front or right at the back) and also, there doesnt seem to be stoppers or something at the back!! Someone tried to put it back last night and it came right off the runners. Been looking at etka but cant seem to find the runners or anything in the pictures,,,

ok, im trying to decide between the Concept 550 and Intelliguard 750. Im not worried about blackjax so thinking the 550. On the clifford website it has (in the features table) a row called Autolock/Unlock where the 550 says IGN/RPM/ W/IS and the 750 just has IGN/RPM. Whats all this about?

Not sure if this is my imagination or what, but i seem to get a kind of hissing noise that seems inline with the amount of revs. Dont think it was there before. Thought it sounded like a belt? Any ideas?

yeah, i like it. I think i prefer the aluminium/leather style ones, but the interior doesnt really have any aluminium, and the idea from the start was that the wooden one doesnt match. hmmm, the girlfriend has a mk4 polo. I wonder if she fancies a wooden one... Are they the same on GTi's and alll the others?

Ill have to check out Polo ones then. Do all the polo ones fit? Kind of set my heart on a couple of ones from the www.tmtuning.com website, but theyre only for mkIV's
