Hi all, im looking at some parts on ECP, and there are 2 options 1 - up to 1HS399999 and 2 - from 1HS400001 My CHassis number is VVWblahblah1HZ123456 I take it the 1HZ and 1HS mean the same?
Hi all and a Merry Christmas. I am about to change rear discs and pads on my '97 highline. Is this a simple operation of removing and replacing as with most cars? I realise the caliper needs turning and compressing using the special tool, but have also heard that the disc is attached to the bearing and this needs replacing too? Thanks all
So what we are saying is, you just need to put everything back like it was. ABS rings on the front, and bearings on the rear? Is it obvious what to do as i dont know much about ABS or wheel bearings
Hi all, can someone tell me (everything) that needs doing when changing discs and pads on front and back. I know how to do the job, ie, compressing the piston and all. I have just heard that other things need doing too,ie ABS Rings, ABS Cogs, Wheel bearings... Thanks
hey - this is the noise mine makes. Been trying to work it out for ages. If you go along in first gear at about 1500 rpm its clearest. Kind of like a shhhh tick tick..... Mines only done 45k..
hmm, now thats an idea! Im sure it started when the garage was doing something to the steering column, so they might have removed the intake pipes and not connected something up properly again.... hmmm...
eh? Grind what down? The screw's have sheared about half way down, so the plate has come off but theres half a screw stuck in the whole so i cant replace it..
BUGGER! Attempted to swap my original plates for some Euro plates last night as shortly going abroad. Turned the screw to remove the original, and 'Snap', the head shears completely off. And then the same with the other screw. Now ive got 2 half bits of screw in the holes.... What to do??!! Grr
Try this - its pretty easy! http://www.motivationmarketing.co.uk/serpentine%20belt%20tensioner.doc Although i have the same noise, and still have it afterwards...
Im planning on going overseas for a year and need to leave the VR at home Gonna leave it at the parents house so they can start it up every now and then to keep it alive. Also probably wont get a place in the garage. I was planning on getting it serviced before i go and using a car cover to keep it dry. Anyone got any other reccomendations? How often should it be started/driven to keep it good? [ Edited ]
yeah, i think the whining noise is ok, just wanted to check. Its the constant harsh shhh noise i was more concerned about. Needs to be heard i suppose. Cheers guys
What about these 1.8T's that have a REVO chip. It states that a 150bhp standard will convert to 212bhp with just the chip. Is that believeable? How will that compare with the VR?
queeking? I was thinking alternator at first. SOunds like a car does when the battery is really flat and its desperately trying to recharge itself. Battery is fine though... maybe just alternator...
