Petesvw 0
Power steering pumps are often louder under load!Ya check the fluid level?
zedvr6 0
Just started the car from cold and the power steering is very quiet.Whining noise occurs as the car warms up.Power steering fluid level is on maximum level.
spanky 0
It could be the water pump or tensioner bearingstarting to go, as they get put under load when you use the power steering that runs off the same belt. I had that when the tensioner bearing had ripped itself apart, but it was much more of a squeal than a whinning noise.
Ciaran 4
best wat to tell is put the car to full lock and strain the pump at the end of it's travel if it noisy it's the pump easy fix did mine in an hour
matth76 1
Its normal for the power steering to make an audiable "hissing" sound on full lock...nothing to worry about. However if it is noisy throughout turning the steering wheel then it needs looking at.
