I know i've asked this before but i am confused... Want to take my side skirts off but a) am worried about the finish of the paint underneath ie; the paint is bobbly under the skirts at the bottom i presume this is to protect against rust etc, so if you take skirts off doe you then need underneath finishing or am i just being over fussy ... ???

also the strip that is bonded to the side of the car to hold the skirt in place how easy is this to come off cause it looks like its well and truly bonded on

i appreciate your help

I used a thin screw driver and inserted it into the end of the strip (theres a small diameter channel that runs through it) and pryed the first bit off, then gentley pulled the rest off by hand. Easy. I did however loose a bit of paint when i removed the black sticker type thing that runs along the top of the door cill (i ripped it off instead of gently peeling)

I took mine off over the weekend, came off quite easily, apart from the rivets at each end of the sill. The sticky bits left behind came off just by rubbing my thumb over them, after I soaked them in brake cleaner for a couple of mins. Then washed them down with car shampoo and water, and gave hem a polish, came up a treat. Now just got to clean the rest of the car to match. Underneath mine is rough aswell, but you cant see it. ;)
