Hi mate it is possible to supercharge or turbo the vr6 with 264's or even 268's. It requires a spot on remap but yes it is possible. Quite a few people do it regularly in the states... if you post a question on vwvortex.com they will give you a lot of info as many on that forum have done it.

Yours is a 2.9 kev ;)

It doesn't help setup, means its a bit trickier to map it correctly.

Erm, thats about it engine wise, apart from 130k lol.

It was 291 with a badly blowing zorst, so possibly a touch more, but i don't really want to get into a figure frenzy :@

So, baisically what i'm saying is put em in mate and if you do want to go sc in the future you won't have wasted your hard earned :)

Yeah that's true, LOL!. That 70 odd CC difference doesn't make much difference anyway. We all know the OBD2 2.8 makes the same as an OBD1 2.9 :-)

Vince was saying the 2.9 squish area being larger than the 2.8s doesn't lend itself that well to charging. The 2.8s seem sweeter in both N/A and charged form to me. I'm not a great fan of the 2900 tbh. I can't see the point of it. VW should have just 3 litred it from the start :-)

Anyway, yeah it is harder to map forced induction with sport cams as you have overlap to consider, but you can get some nifty vernier sprockets for VRs which should help get it spot on.
