binliner 0
not all air con systems are the same so the fact you don't have it doesnt mean your system is missing anything
dubberVR6 0
Hmmmm, that sounds promising. Not been to VAG yet, so I'll check with them. I'm being lazy today and they are accross the road from my house!
Bee 0
Is your car an OBD1 by any chance ? I think only OBD2 have the silver aircon pipe. I think ! *-) Bee..
VR6Pete 1,455
Air con may not work for many reasons, even simple thigs like it may just need re-gassing.If the pressure drops below a certain PSI, the compressor will not kick in (as a safety feature).I spent over 200 quid trying to get my air-con working, when it was something as silly as a broken terminal connection on my battery. As part of my diagnostics, I replaced:All 3 engine sensors, fan control swtich, fan control module, regassed the system, leak tested, computer diagnostics. It actually cost me 30p to replace the broken connection! My VR6 is an OBD2, and my air-con set up is the same as in that picture. I beleive there are some differences between the older OBD1's and the later ones, to which, I am unsure.Pete
dubberVR6 0
I've got a 97 highline, so am pretty sure its OBD2. I've got clips on the lip of the bulk head that look like they should have that pipe through them!!! Still not been accross the road to VW though! Tomorrow!!!
Nerih 0
tell u what, check if you got a compressor, look at your pulleys, crank, power steering pump, water pump, auto tensioner and alternator is 7 pulleys 6 pulleys means youve got an aircon compressor...correct me if ive missed a pulley out ...(assuming you have no supercharger), im also assuming all vr's use a pulley driven compressor.
