HIC came back to me with a renewal price, £374. So i rang Adrian flux, they quoted me £350. Rang HIC to tell 'em flux had quoted me £340, and they dropped there price to £330??

Sister companys undercutting each other without even checking, some times it pays to tell a white lie 'eh!!

And only another £200 to go to 300 BHP when the charger goes on!

How old are you mate, and how many years no claims etc?How long have you been driving for? Im looking to renew my insurance for my modded VR6 Corrado at the minute and arent impressed. Most have been over 1000 to 1500 pounds.

Im 25 I have 3 years no claims but have only been driving 2 years and 9 months. Do you think if I was to take the car off the road for the remander of 3 months,so I would have been driving 3 years and also of turned 26, this

would make much difference? The best quote Ive had is off of Highway through greenlight. They have quoted me just under 700 which I thought was great with all the mods declared! The only prob is that when they sent me the forms through they had put that I passed my test April 03,which would mean that I would have been driving for three years. I am hopeing that when I send the form back ammended it wont affect the quote!

Anyone got any advice or sugestions would be great cheers!

I tried HIC today, got 10yrs NCB (touch wood), passed test in 1990, no claims/points etc, mods of wheels, suspension and exhaust. Got a quote of £690! I am an old git at 33, i payed £500 with Flux last year so i consider the quote to be pretty crap. I don't know why it's so high, i don't live in the Bronx! Maybe me being a BT engineer is cocking it up for me?

It will more than likely give you a slightly lower premium, all depends if you can go without your VR for that time?! Turning 25yrs old is the biggest change, in terms of age related premiums. The license held 3yrs rather than 2yrs (+ a bit) will also affect the premium a bit.

Best thing to do is just get a quote for both variants and see how much the difference is in quotes.

Last year I paid £488.00 fully comp for my 94 VR6 2.8, with coilovers, 17" Wheels, uprated brakes and an Airfilter. I hit a Deer in January 06, causing minor wing damage, but the cost exceeded my budget at the time, so I got it done through the insurance and paid the excess of £300. Now I've just received my renewal and it's £567.00 I contested this with Adrian Flux, who said it wa because I had made a claim. So, I'm 30 years old, this is my first accident in 12 years and I'm going to have to pay this inflated rate for three more years . . . . Which would basically have paid for the damage on my car to be repaired and some more in the first place ? I mean, why do we pay insurance ??? They just rip you off.
