pimpcat 0
are thery the same engine do they both use turbo's?
goonersteve 0
I know the VTS doesn't. Not as standard anyway, if that's what ya mean?
Jon_Piscitelli 0
No turbo's on either, not sure if they're the same engine though
vr6madmike 0
vts id is just a 16v version of the vtr ening hence its a 1.6 16v and the 206 is a 2.0 16v avalible in two states of tune either 150bhp or 180bhp araorak i know!
Jon_Piscitelli 0
Either way, still prefer my F plate 205, its got the Mi-16 conversion and pushing out the standard 167 bhp, trouble is its rubbish for traction unless its bone dry...
vr6madmike 0
vts and 206 gti are 0-60 cars theres no midrange and you have to rev the nuts off them to get anywhere not like the smooth effotless and gear acceleration of the VR6
Jon_Piscitelli 0
For sure, plus they're really badly put together, very flimsy, if you stack it your going to know about it..
matth76 1
A lightly modded late model vr (just an exhaust and filter) will out perform either on 0-60 as well midrange. Pimp why do you ask? Were you thinking of getting one ( ?
vr6madmike 0
I rekkon a standard vr could do them o-60 in most situations due to the torque soon as the french cars see a slight hill they would be fcuked
Slim 0
Forget about VR's, my old Valver used to chew up and spit out VTS' for fun. Awful cars with absolutely no redeeming features, and if anyone even considers parting with money for one, I consider their opinions on cars, worthless.
vr6matt 0
Yea they make the 206 GTI 180 which is nippy and could probably do a standard VR to 60, a lighty modded VR e.g exhaust and filter will have it all day long. These french cars need to be caned all the time to get moving, which is not my cup of tea, they rattle and are cheap, but I suppose can be good fun A friend of mine had a 205 MI16 conversion and it pulled on a Subaru Impreza (UK) with 240bhp @ 100mph. Its all about power to wieght with these french tin cans.....
Jon_Piscitelli 0
One of the blokes at work has got himself a Clio 182 which is quite nippy and apparantly better than the 206 GTI 180.To be honest they are all pretty good but as you say need to be caned and rattle like hell. The 205 is good, but on anything over 20 mins its a pig to drive, I only got it coz at the time I had a Rangey which was thirsty as hell.I wanted something to go the 2 miles into work everyday, got drunk one night and ended up buying the Mi-16 engine from the local scappy and me and the boys here put in over a couple of weeks when it was quiet.Bloody good fun though! vr6 g3 0
206 GTI is 138 bhp and the vts is 130, there wont be much in it between them both but the vts will probley have the edge. MI-16 is 160 bhp for the 1.9 or the later 2ltr was 155bhp, 167 is the gti-6 engine.
Jon_Piscitelli 0
To be honest sure your right, its certainly noT a GTI-6 either way its best to stay with VW, nothing to the french cars..
vr6 g3 0
Hey i'm not knocking peugeots, i've had a couple myself and our lass has a mint 205 with the MI-16 lump in it and its great. Build quality is upto much but you never see a rotton one on the road.
