Just waxed my car... it actually froze.. will I have scratched my car by rubbing it off?

Recommended Posts

Hi

Cleaned and waxed my car this afternoon today (when it was still sunny) as usual but when I was rubbing off the wax on the roof I found I was rubbing ice off. The wax had obviously frozen in combination with earlier than usual dew. I tried rubbing it all off with a cotton cloth. My question is will I have scratched my roof by rubbing the ice of with a cotton cloth? Unfortunately it's dark now to see but wondered if anyone might know?

Thanks

Matt

Cheers guys put my worries at rest. I guess I'll know for sure in the morning... assuming it's sunny enough to melt the ice!

I couldn't tell if it was scratched (not because it was dark...I do have a torch lol) but because the dew had settled which by that time started to freeze straight away. I assume it will be fine.. just a bit paranoid after the other week when I scratched a bit of the paint work...with a chamois leather!

i took the back of a kitchen sponge to it (the green part) and it made swirl marks in the paint

and you were surprised at that??!!!!!! :o &|

pmsl! Fair play nerih, using the scourer aint a good idea on paintwork, unless youve been cooking fryups on it ;-)

I just don't understand - I got some bird poo on my car' date=' so I used an angle grinder to get it off, and now my paintwork is damaged? What did I do wrong? ;)

Did you use the cutting disk or the grinding disk? I know, I bet you used the disk for working with stone instead of metal.

Easily done.
