veedubnutz 0
Alright chaps. Got a bit of an odd problem with my vr6. For some reason when i set off from a standstill, more often on a hill(when the engines under load) I get a kinda low pitched squeaking? Sounds like something slipping from the gearbox side.... although I cant be sure its that side. Its kind of irritating as you can imagine. Oh FYI it also sometimes does it on gearing down? Any ideas? This ones definitely on for the hardcore VR6 nutters out there! !amazed

silverline 0
clutch release bearing?
Justicevr6 0
I agree with silverline cutch release bearing.
Craig 0
Surely you would hear a squeak from a worn out clutch release bearing every time the clutch was used?
veedubnutz 0
It doesnt do it while i am pulling the clutch up normally, only under load. Would an engine mount make a continouous noise?
silverline 0
if your pulling away under load you'll be using more power than normal therefore putting more load on the release bearing.
veedubnutz 0
Also, im not sure if this is related, but after a long stint of not using the clutch(ie on a motorway) , when I use the clutch it feels really heavy. then after a couple of uses, it lightens up again? VR6Pete 1,455
My clutch sqeek's but that's because my clutch slave cylinder has seen better days.
dubloke 4
Also' date=' im not sure if this is related, but after a long stint of not using the clutch(ie on a motorway) , when I use the clutch it feels really heavy. then after a couple of uses, it lightens up again?[/quote']that'll be because its hydraulic and operating it often makes the fluid more viscous as it uses the same resevoir as the brakes, not often used on the m/way either!
