Ideas? VR6 slow pickup...

Anyone got any idea what could be causing my car to be slow on pick up. Its worst in 1st gear, i can plant my foot, full throttle but the car hardly starts moving till im over 2-2.5k RPM :( Not the best.... is this normal?

I find if i try putting foot to floor it doesnt pull as well as when i put pedal about halfway then when its upto bout 3000 i floor it ' date='i seem to get better starts like this.

%-6 ?! !dodge thats new to me...i just ride the clutch a bit off the mark, then gun it, foot to the floor all the way to 70 on motorways and 40 in a 40 :P;)

that may be due to the fact that you're sitting there doin a burnout! lol!

they best accelaration is had by keeping the engine in its power band (so on a vr6 4000-6500), and having the slightest slight of wheelspin.

but you also wanna let the clucth out as smoothlay as possible, but not to slow as to burn the clutch...it's a balancing act.

lol i dont like spending money on new tyres either so no i dont sit burning out just find i get better starts like this without spinning wheels suppose youd have to come in car with me to understand wot i trying to explain.oh and i have been driving for 15 yrs now so i can drive ok . :P

BTW, if there's anyone in the West Lothian are who wants to meet up, let me know. Reason being, I've always wanted to see how my VR compares against another standard VR. So if anyone's in the area gimme a shout - remember we can only plant it up to 70mph tho ;)
