Nerih 0
Guys, my boost gauge is only registering vacuum, its attached to the big pipe that goes to the brake servo. Would it be affected becuase the boost return valve also uses pressure from the pipe work?or is it becuase i should attach it to the fuel pressure regulator.
dubloke 4
have u got a proper supercharger gauge or a turbo boost gauge?
Nerih 0
i dont know, it has vacuum and boost, i enclose some pics
binliner 0
Not sure if it will solve the problem but it's best connected into the small vacuum hose on the fuel pressure regulator
Nerih 0
ive been told that is i *ck that up, my engine will blow up...vince told me its not a good idea to splice into the fuel pressure regulator, take it from anywhere BUT there.now blownvr says that its becuase i have a non return valve in my brake servo vacuum feed, but i've cut into the vacuum pipe BEFORE the valve....the fuel pressure regulator is the last place (if its my only option left).see pic for valve (orange hose is what i use to T in). mightyvr6 0
Theres a nipple on the inlet manifold to attach the vaccum hose near the pcv valve.
Nerih 0
pcv? is the near the breather? ive checked near there, the 1 pipe going into the intake, joins the valve and then heads off to the fuel breathing system, can i T into that, or is there a spare connection somewhere i can use. Nerih 0
if you split your vacuum hose some how (in your car most likely, against sharp edges), then you'll lose vacuum to your fuel pressure valve, and youll run VERY VERY lean .
badboyV6 4
so i suppose thats the same as saying - if you run your fuel line along the body of the car you risk abbrasion of the fuel line and the car will blow up when it leaks? I would have thought if its securely fastened and isnt next to any 'sharp edges' and is well padded- which id say youd be very careful about checking, then you'll be okay- i think youd know in an instant if the car started running VERY lean..... long before you caused any damage????Just a thought thuogh
Nerih 0
my thought was, if there was a problem, you;d know becuase your guage would TELL you LOL. anyways, i've decided to T off near the PCV, (breather) its a bit of a long way, but i'll try it, im gonna try swapping the vacuum hoses around a bit first though.p.s LOVE your new sig. simey 0
Why worry about a boost gauge, its the last thing to look at when driving at speed?
binliner 0
my thought was' date=' if there was a problem, you;d know becuase your guage would TELL you LOL.[/quote']so what's the problem lol?!
mark@vagworx 0
It would only confirm what your right oot was telling you. You'd know if you were dropping boost.
VRmonster 1
connect it to the hose coming from the back of the intake mani. its the easiest to route the pipework to the gauge. i have my boost controller, wastegate and dump valve all Tee'd off from that. Nerih 0
yep, ive taken it off the pcv valve pipe work...get a vag reading of 10hgi instead of 20...wierd.....simey, the point of the boost gauge is to see if your running on boost, and since its going to be pillar mounted, i wont have to take my eyes off the road, its just like checking your speedo...no big deal.
