rsweeney 40 Posted June 10, 2015 Report Share Posted June 10, 2015 Just removed the engine and gearbox on my VR6 and with the car on axle stands I went to test the ball joints wheel bearings etc for play. By lifting the wheel upwards i can get 1-2 inches of movement where the strut assembely moves in the turret ( from the engine bay you can see the top mounts moving 1-2 inches upwards ) . Is this just the design because i cant see how you would get this play from normal wear and tear! Link to post Share on other sites
c00k 435 Posted June 10, 2015 Report Share Posted June 10, 2015 It should move about half inch on standard spring, 1-2 inches seems abit excessive to me. There might be abit more play if running aftermarket lowing springs, But 2inches seem to much, about half inch or less I would say is correct. Maybe the second nut, underneath the top nut isn't tight enough. Link to post Share on other sites
