SHARKY 0
Ok guys,I'm new to this site so a big hello to y'all...I've read many threads and you all seem to be far more educated than most mechanics I know, so here's a possible puzzler for you to solve.I reset my service indicators (IN01, IN02, oel) according to the Bentley manual and from what I've seen on various threads, but now my blessed VR6 won't start! When I turn the key I get IN00 which I assume is right.I've got a TOAD alarm and a separate immobiliser (not factory - just forgot the name) and these seem fine - they turn on/off as per normal. When I try to start the car it doesn't turn over - nothing. It's like the immobiliser is on but it's not!!!I'm stumped totally. I'm thinking about trying to reset the ECU but I'm not driving right now as I've just had a knee op - I just turn the engine over every day for about 10 - 15 mins to keep the charge up in the battery.Anyone got any ideas before I start to call people to check things out. I don't want to call anyone and waste money - saving for some mods you see..... Thanx in advance guys...

SankysVR6 1
could be your startee motor? Try and see if you can bump start it, i Know you shouldn't do it as it's got a cat. But if it turns and try's to fire it will probably be the starter
shail 0
As above, check you starter. i had a similar prob. i though it was the immobilier at first. Turned out to be a corroded earth strap on the starter. It looked OK to the eye, but just didnt have enough 'metal' in it to be a good conductor.
SHARKY 0
Hey there guys...Thanx for the advice, I took the battery earth cable off for about 20 minutes and ...... IT BREATHES GAIN - THE BEAST ROARS!!!!!Sorry about that I'm just happy that it's ok! It's a nightmare knowing that its outside and I can't drive 'cos of the knee op... Only a few weeks though and I'll be back drivin' with a HUGE grin on my face.I'll be back for more advice when I'm doing the major mods (supercharger etc)... Mines only got a Pipercross induction kit and a full stainless exhaust at the moment, but the sound is simply the best!!!!Cheers again guys...
