abvsean 32
Alright folks I am looking into using a catch can to cut down on dirty oily vapor getting into my nice clean TB,is anyone using one?? I have been reading afew threads on vortex and fortitude and what i can make out is i need to just run a pipe from my rocker cover to the catch can then from there to my intake. Does the catch can have to be vented or non vented been hearing different opinions, surely if its a vented catch can with the little filter on the top its the same as having in vent to atmosphere? any help would be appriciated chus
Lukey. 381
Make it a sealed system. I run one and the diahorrea it catches bolsters my confidence that it does it's job
CALICO 130
Most people run to catch can then run a pipe to inner wing or similar with small filter on it (needs to be somewhere which will not let the smells inside your car}
abvsean 32
but if its vented into the inner wing its not sealed calico?Iv heard it has to be sealed so the pressure is correct in the engine?so a pipe to the can then back to the sensor?have just got filters on my mini and it gets oily film over everything
MJ Vr6 79
Just run a pipe from rocker with a small filter at the end of it down side of wing. Vent to atmostphere. Job done.
p0u1 14
Make it a sealed system. I run one and the diahorrea it catches bolsters my confidence that it does it's job is there not a good chance of blowing the rocker cover gasket, I just run mine in a pipe to a coke can near the wing but I want to change it to a proper tank with a small filter to keep it open to the atmosphere, remember to bung the other side with the air filter on as it's after the maf.Edited, I want to do what you originally said in your first post i think it's the correct and safer way.Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk Edited April 20, 2014 by p0u1
Lukey. 381
It's sealed as it comes from the factory, doesn't vent to open air does it.
