Lukey. 381 Posted January 22, 2014 Report Share Posted January 22, 2014 The passenger mount is the gearbox mount, the new one will be a lot more solid than the old slack one so you'll be hearing more transferred noise. Lukey. 381 Posted January 23, 2014 Report Share Posted January 23, 2014 If it's a standard replacement then no you don't need to, no harm in doing so though then they are all new and one less thing they aren't very expensive. If you had replaced one with a stiffer mount like fast road or comp then you should always match all 3. Link to post Share on other sites

Vr6pates 2 Posted January 31, 2014 Author Report Share Posted January 31, 2014 Have had the car tracked by Jodie at midland vw so everything is set properly drives nice now but when drove it it still pulled to the left so he drove on the wrong side of the road and it pulled to the right then.but on accelerating we noticed it pulled to left Abit then stopped after acceleration he said that it's down to talk steer as mk1,2 and 3 were destined to be left hand drives and we're properly done for right hand drives something to do with the left side drive shaft is shorten than the right that's why I'm getting the pull Link to post Share on other sites

He's giving you a bit of bullshit with regards to that, but yes it's to do with the near side driveshaft being shorter than the off side Link to post Share on other sites

Ickyketseddie 89 Posted January 31, 2014 Report Share Posted January 31, 2014 Basically every front wheel drive car with a open diff and a bit of power will get some torque steer as the gearbox isn't centrally mounted.
