Therusterman 59
So with the summer wheels on hibernation, I've been thinking about replacing all four for a matching set. Currently I have Nankang NS-2's on the front which wear well, but the grip in the wet is poor. On the back is Dunlop SP2's I think, haven't run these in the front but seem to give off a lot of road noise. Now, the tyres I've been looking at are the Continental Premium Contact 2's, Avon ZV 5's and the Falken ZE 914's. Anyone have experience with any of the above, or any other alternatives I should consider?
craggsy 91
Buy winter tyres as they are good for below 5 degrees I think
Therusterman 59
Buy winter tyres as they are good for below 5 degrees I think Sorry should of been clearer. I've got 2 sets of wheels, 1 with my winter tyres already mounted, running some Nankang SV-2's which have highlighted the lack of grip I was getting from the summer tyres in the wet. The other wheels (Solitude's) are my 'summer' wheel. Iirc the winter tyres are suitable for temperatures <7 degrees.
andymk312v 15
Had 914's on through the summer and was very impressed with them. Ran continentals on my leon cupra(sport contact 5) and polo 6n (sc2 and 3) and the only fault is they are quite a soft compound so wear quick. But the grip was always there, great tyres and will be fitting a set to my vr next summer.
Lukey. 381
I'll still say toyo T1R if you can find any, best price vs performance I've found.
Ickyketseddie 89
Vredistein sportrac 3's, good dry and wet performance and good money too. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Earwig 89
Bridgestone Potenza. We just stuck 4 on the Polo and the grip is amazing in the wet. Far better than the cheap tyres that were on it before.
