Seademon 0
Yeah easy job! I've got the Bonrath ones fitted to mine - dont be tempted to buy cheap ones as I found out on my last car they just give up and wont hold the bonnest up and you could find your bonnet coming down on your head :0)
six appeal 53
Totally agree with SeaDemon, and if you wait till Inters Bonrath always have a stand there.

Seademon 0
The £20 ones will be the cheap bonnet on your head ones! I got my Bonrath lifters from Awesome GTI and they were about £60 I think but shop around - you might find them cheaper else where.
jonvr6highline 0
I've got a pair of Bonrath lifters which I had for my Mk1 Cabriolet, which I never fitted. Do you think that these were specialy made for Mk1 or would they fit my Mk3? Otherwise I'll sell them. Cheers Jon

Seademon 0
Admittedly i didnt have the cheap ones on my Golf I had them on my old car - a Vauxhall Calibra....they lasted about 8 months before one of them just lost the will to lift and when it came down and corner of the bonnet hit my mechanics nose - made a right mess and he got a black eye :0)

VR6Steve 0
Totally agree with SeaDemon' date=' and if you wait till Inters Bonrath always have a stand there.[/quote']Spot on. I got mine from them 2 years ago. They are quality items and if memory serves they were only £30 which is £10 more than the cheap ones that start to rust about a week after fitting. They are really strong too. Hopefully going to get some for my Mk2 this year and some tailgate one for it too.
