Is it posible for the early vr6 with 6pin air flow sensor to use the later vr6 4pin air flow sensor?

My vr6 original from factory came with 6pin air flow sensor and this 6pin air flow sensor is no more in production so i am wondering if one day my vr6 6pin air flow sensor give way is it posible for me to use the later vr6 4pin air flow sensor?

No you can't use the 4 pin one on the 6 pin one. Needs the ECU.

this is wot i was gonna do-

Pin 1 ------(Brown/Yellow)----------------> Pin 1 (Ground)

Pin 2 ------(Brown/Blue)------------------> Pin 2 (Signal Ground)

Pin 3 ------(Red)--------------------------> Pin 4 (Signal)

Pin 4 (Black)(Burn Off Trigger Wire)

Pin 5 ------(Red/(Yellow or Blue)--------> Pin 3 (+12V)

Pin 6 (Not Connected)

Well.......i had people saying yes, and people saying no! Try it and see! U can pop the pins out and test it without any damage.

You need the ECU too, the 2 MAF's have different outputs.

Big problem for me because my vr6 is the early distributor egnine and all vr6 obd-1 with distributor engine only use only 6pin air flow sensor and is different with the vr6 obd-1coilpack engine early model using 6pin air flow sensor and the later vr6 obd-1 coilpack engine using 4pin air flow sensor!

Just but an obd2 conversion, there's on on ebay and also one for sale on here... job done.
