ZR s/c parts

Recommended Posts

Just spoke to stealth about fitting my ZR s/c - they are saying i should reconsider this as the company has gone bust and parts are unavailable! :(

Does anyone know anywhere that can source parts and if the worst comes to the worst re-build the charger? I don't really want to get rid of it if i can possibly help it!

I'm not sure that Z-Eng have gone bust but have been taken over by there parent company Ruf. There are still loads of these chargers about so parts must still be available.

NS Racing (Nik Saran is the founder of VF-Eng) and Stealth must have an agreement to sell VF-Eng (Vortech) chargers so can't sell another rival companies products. Consequently Z-Eng have suffered through the dominance of VF and Vortech chargers in the supercharger marketplace.

If you need belts contact Dayco, as long as you know the size of the belt i.e. 500 RPP5 they can mail it to you.

For some reason my charger uses an idustrial belt so if you have no luck with Dayco contact Megadyne (2 belts 10 quid)

It was a couple of years ago but they were very helpful (and cheaper than anywhere else) when I got a ZR fitted to my old Corrado.

The ZR sounds better than the Vortec any day ;)

The ZR is louder in operation (but silent at idle) but the vortech, makes a nice whistle at idle and makes a high pitched whine when revved. I find it's much smoother than the Z because of internal gearing but tbh I'd be happy with either.
