pfennell 0
finished my rotrex build today and have 2 problems.vr6 obd1 aaa1, the maf is popping quite loud on idle and trying to accelerate.2, i thought the idle problem was sommat to do with the fuelling so disconnected the fuel regulator and fse and connected it all back up to where is was originally, when i disconnected the fuel feed pipe to the rail the fuel was under alot of pressure and squirted all over..i ran the fuel through a walbro 4 bar pump to the rail and the return pipe was connected to the fse and the return hose on the rail was blanked with a non return valve ifs thats any help.. thankyou for your help ill be on all night
bungy 2
Are you sure you havn't blocked the return and over pressurizing?
pfennell 0
the return runs to the fuel pressure regulator the bottom connector then out the side to the to the fuel rail reg then where the return pipe normally goes ive put a non return valve on is that right
Antihero1981 8
what map you running? also are you running larger injectors?
pfennell 0
no map yet and standard injectors..ive been told the best way to solve this is to convert to obd2...

pfennell 0
cheers mate,i take it i will have to change the wiring as well. oh well one day i will drive this thing probs when the world runs out of fuel lol
HAMMER_VR6 0
im not really helping your situation, but you should have let me buy that kit. then you would be having all these problems!!!!You beat me to it by literally couple of hours. LOL
craggsy 91
Well i left standard FPR in fuel rail and just used a rising rate FPR on the return fuel line. Ran fine and about 300bhp too.I was OBD2, and also had standard injectors too. I never had i remapped either
CALICO 130
i have a Begi rising rate fuel pressure reg for sale £100+postage i dont think an FSE one is any good for what you need
craggsy 91
Yep I also had a BEGI rr fpr
poll250 0
I dont think this problem has anything to do with converting to OBD2..
jims13 6
have you got the maf orintated the right way.. have you extended the wiring to it .. tbh bolting on the rotrex into a standard vr6 is a fairly simpe afair . there are various ways of accomadting the extra power. a remaped ecu is the best way , but a rrfrp will work and still achive decent results.what pulley do you have ? what spark plugs, what gap etc etc.
bungy 2
I dont think this problem has anything to do with converting to OBD2..? because ?
pfennell 0
went to scrappies today picked up obd2 inlet manifold, throttle body and MAF and some wiring but do i need the EGR thingy. ive looked at the wiring and does anybody know how to wire the old 5 pin maf into the 4 pin only 1 wire shows voltage when ignition is on...I was thinking it may be due to the plugs as the old ones are new and the ones i have in now are from when i brought the charger mmm this may be the problem any thought on any thing else dudes
UnitedMotorsport 55
5 wire MAF will not work with OBD2, plus the OBD2 4 wire MAF is 500 times better.
pfennell 0
how can i wire the 4 pin into the existing 5 pin or is this not possible.....
UnitedMotorsport 55
You will need to change to the next generation of OBD1 ECU to do that, so while your changing ECU's you might as well go to OBD2.
pfennell 0
ive got an obd2 ecu mapped to use with this charger from the bloke i brought it from tried to use it but the motor would not fire up. could it be immobilised or ont it just work
UnitedMotorsport 55
You can not just plug an OBD2 ECU into an OBD1 loom, it wont work. You need to change the management loom too.
pfennell 0
yer thought so, im sure i will figure this thing out ive owned it 5 years and drove it a total of around 1000 miles...i wont give up cheers mate for the help
