When I took out the ABS tray and looked under the carpets there were these 2 plastic tray thingys filled with sand they are made from grey platic and weigh quit a bit why are they there?? Also iv'e got water coming into the foot well again!! i think it must be the dreaded sun roof drain again. What would happen if I plugged the sunroof drain ? They are a pain in the back side. I've cleaned the drain loads of times. Any clues ?? Updated with image I hope ! Link to post Share on other sites

ez_101 1 Posted February 21, 2011 Report Share Posted February 21, 2011 I pulled my carpets back last night as the drivers side was soaking found loads of water with no idea wher eit came from, took out the sound deadening, and i also found these plastic tray things, lol no idea what they are for, but i dont think i will put them back in.Also does anyone know what the bungs are for and if they are need? i might just perminatley cover them up!? Lukey. 381 Posted February 21, 2011 Report Share Posted February 21, 2011 they are holes from the production line so machines can manoeuvre the shell about, they arent needed, the bungs are the cheapest way for VW to plug them effectively enough (when they are brand new, but we all know rubber deteriorates) Link to post Share on other sites
