HELP I THINK???

MY CAR HAS GONE ALL DERANGED I GOT A POWER RUN DONE AND THE RESULTS WERE ERM SUPRISING

PEAK TORQUE IS AT 3300 RPM AS I WAS EXPECTING DUE TO THE SCHRICK BUT I WASNT EXPECTING 235LB FT !amazed !amazed WITH A HEATSOAKED ENGINE THATS HAD 2 HOURS DRIVING BEFORE GOING STRAIGHT ON THE ROLLERS

thats up from 187 lb ft before the schrick and power chip thats the nice suprise now for the disapointing figure of 188 bhp down from 198

i know this is due to the torque dropping off rapidly from about 205lb ft @ 4600 rpm to about 190 lb ft @ 5200 rpm i assume it keeps dropping but strangely the graph stops @ 5200rpm but the bhp graph carries onto 6400 rpm what causes torque drop off is fueling the prime suspect??

im sure the torque didnt drop off until 5500 at the october rr day hence bigger bhp

ps im still stunned at the torque figure

could it be to do with the off the shelf chip you're using?

possibly justin the chip deffo smoothed out the drop when the schrick switches il speak to collins about it see what they say

ps ingham has the same chip and his figures seem good at rr day

My point is Inghams car doesnt have a schrich manifold, yours does yet with that chip you're both using the same map!

u have a very good point about the map it is odd how it drops off sooo much earlier now ps does 235 lb ft sound high to u?

my i poiint out that my car runs stanard air box and was very hot when it when on rollers plus my map is not same as eat this cos i had it changed for lower grade fuel

i am happy with results plus car has lots of turque low down

when the car was first chipped it was alot faster but was pinking on the fuel i was using

what did the operator say about results he should have checked fueling

I wasnt having a go at you or your car... I was under the impression that the chips you were using were off the shelf ones as opposed to ones specifically mapped for the car... If there is a problem with fueling on eat this' car the fact it hasnt been mapped specifically for the mods would seem to me to be a possible culprit

it was just a power run jason it was mikeaniks in congleton he was confused by the schrick lol i dont have cams so should get a drop when the schrick opens upto 4600 rpm the graph is fantastic BUT it tails off then as opposed to pre schrick and chip where it tailed off at 5500rpm it nails the bhp figure i only got 188 bhp if it carried on till 5500rpm as before i should get 215-220 bhp

i dont see that just cos its got a more balanced manifold that the map should be that differant all the chip is doing is taking out flat spots that vw put in for mpg and emissons

how does it do it ignition timing or fuellin or both??? il ring collins in the mornin and talk to them ps i left my old torque sheet in mikanichs doh hehe

there is alot of work that went on with my map around the switch over point. There should be a noticable difference when the flap does switch, it's not normally a gradual thing...

there is pete im not talkin about that m8 its higher up the rev range it just dies it doesnt feel slow when drivin though another odd thing is the torque sheet stops at 5200 rpm its all a bit wierd tbh im chuffed to buggery with the peak torque figure though hehe

iv been for a drive today and come to the conclusion the graph is WRONG no way does the torque drop after 4500 rpm if anything it pulls harder in which case it put out around 215 bhp with a huge surge of midrange torque

bhp = torque x revs / 5200 roughly

i took the torque drop off point from rr day and used a conservativetorque figure from the recent power run so 205 lb ft x 5500 / 5200 = 216.?

i the torque ctually rises to around 210 by 4500
