Jack car up and support it

Undo Sump plug and let oil drain out into oil pan.

Undo drain plug on Oil fillter and again let oil drain out

Undo oil fillter and replace, only do it up hand tight though as they can break

Tighten sump plug

Refill with oil and check for leaks

also might help you out a bit.. the oil filter housing has an allen key drain which can be prone to slipping, but if it does and you can't undo it, you can still remove filter, it just gets messy!

you will also need a 36mm socket for the oil filter housing. can do it with a strap but sides are only thin so be super careful.

That drain pump is well worth the investment!

what happens when some cars have a bit of mesh covering the end of the dipstick tube so nothing drops into the sump? surely it'll only suck out to that line then, which might leave a fair bit of old oil still in the sump.

Some cars you can not use the pump for and some lend themselves to it perfectly with a bowl shape beneath the dipstick which is the lowest point. I change my oil every 5-6k with it on my Audi and Golf.

i used one for my last service and it saved a lot of mess!! the one i used had a good pouring spout on it so i just poured it back into the old oil can and bobs ur uncle!

bob is actually my aunt8-)

thanks guys, this is much needed info. I got a cartridge filter, so i just remove the filter housing ,take out old and replace with new?

It should come with a new "O" ring which needs changing aswell.
