Just curious on what will i need to convert my boot from european version to the usa models?

tailgate you mean if its a golf boot if its vento but whichever you'd need to buy one you cannot convert cheaply as it requires cutting and welding

if you buy a usa spec one u swap straight over. i think he means if u want to convrt the one you have to usa, ul have to cut, weld and paint it.

not cut and weld no lol i mean buy a usa one fit it straight on. so it would fit then? dont have to change lights or anything?

When your welding younrisk warping the bootlid and not getting the lines correct. Easier to just buy a US bootlid

as it happens I might be setting something up with a lad in the US to get parts brought over. If your interested let me know. Nothing is finalised as of yet, but we are trying to work something out.

A decent bodyshop would never make that mistake though, I admit that if you do it yourself you can mess it up but I would imagine most vw bodyshop's have done one or two before only worth considering sending one to a bodyshop because you could be waiting a fair while for one to come up for sale
