The build is still happening, but more progress will be made after christmas :).

Spoke to Dav at Pureklass, seems to be the best deal for refurbing my wheels white, unless anyone can suggest anywhere else please?.

Got a new scuttle and windscreen, will be fitted when the roof is sprayed, early next year.

WOW!, yes my car is VW candy white.

I did post on my local Dub forum of somewhere local that does it, no one was recommended.

Hmmm where shall i start lol, need to get em done, only very minor kerbing on 2 of them, really nothing.

It seems obvious that its a little more pricey to get them done a specific VW colour, maybe some powder coating company has a similar white, (not polar ford white/gloss white), and can do it much cheaper!.

I'm all ears :)

Yeah will be a lot cheaper of you don't do a car specific colour. But also if you smooth them down, just take them to a commercial powder coater and they will do it a lot cheaper, the finish my friend has was amazing. He's had a grey set and a White set done now.

:), just spoke to a local company

http://www.oif.uk.com/

i once had a bike powder coated there when i used to race, they have a selection of colours 200+, £47 a wheel, i know they are good.

They said they have a range of whites too.

I'll keep, shopping about. i assume my wheels would at least need to be dipped/blasted, and a slight bit of filling or something for the kerbing?

cheers

ive had a look at our specialist powders supplier for candy whites and there not showing any :( But 125 pounds a wheel is very expensive for a powdercoat. Even a tr-stage pearl or candy or a special finish like translucent or wrinkle especially on a 16" wheel would be around 60 pound per wheel max

are u in the trade then mate ?

any powdere coated wheels should be dipped and blasted for prep as a bare minimum. If your getting them powdered and the kerbing is sufficiently deep id suggest hetting them welded and reprofiled. With the temperatures slightly above a baked wet paint finish cataloy is not a suitable substitute.

That looks like a pretty respectable company. If youve had work done before by them and your happy with the standard of work and price id return to them. Shopping about may save you a few pounds but may not get you the same quality

depends how bad the kerbing is' date=' the powder coat should get rid of most little marks but yeah anything too bad will need to be sorted, can always get your sander out and have a go at them yourself mate ! and you shouldnt need to do anything else to them the powdercoaters will prepare them

The wheels are really not bad, the front passenger side, which has been powder coated candy white, has a small dent in the rim, which has been powder coated over, would like to get rid of that.
