lights so dim on dashboard

right got a niggly problem, the lights on the middle of the dash never worked, the ones that light up the heater blower numbers, hot and cold temperature and where you want the blowers to blow on. put a new light in but at night its so dim still you cant see it really. i have tried the switch on the right where you can make it brighter etc but no luck. :-(

do what i did change all the bulbs to blue led`s there is a how to on here its fiddly but easy loads better though

depends what type they are i have electric so couldnt tell you but CRAZYQUIFF sell uprated ones for the mk1 golf so there must be bulbs out there

The clear plastic 'spider' thing might be missing behind the controls that direct light to the controls. Pull it off and have a look. By spider, you'll understand what I mean if it is there.
