What is the disadvantage golf vr6 convert to lighten flywheel?

Recommended Posts

the mass of the flywheel is usally a balance to allow the engine to maintain its rpm vs the ability to increase and decresase it.

Lightened helps as said to free the engine to rev more freely. The counter effects are the mass needed by the engine is removed and thus when idling the engine can hunt and worst case stall (thiough shouldnt happen with just an aftermarket one) and also it will not maintain its speed as levely when you are - for example climbing a hill in the higher gears (the main straight)

All that said that us when you get serious about it and an offf the shelf type solution should still allow the car to be driven daily quite happily, though you may notice the points everyone has mentioned... :D

Oh and PS it should always have been balanced aven a standard one...
