dub_weiser 0
www.mytyres.co.uk is a pretty good site for cheap various branded and not so branded tyres. Best I've experienced are Pirelli P7000, excellent in the wet and dry. But Toyo's are very good too.
acf8181 0
just setting my stop watch to see how long it is efore acf posts up about Uniroyals! lmao, you know me too well justin.the uni rallye 540's are deffo the ones to go for though, excel under traction (amongst others), which is what you need on the vr6.but of the two you've listed, the toyos without a doubt. acf8181 0
lol funnily enough was talking to someone with a polo gti and he's got toyos but much preferred the uniroyals he had on his old wheels give them a try...you'll love them. the only bit they loose out the toyos is on dry lateral grip, but its compensated for by the fact that they're mega progressive so you can really chuck the car around. badboyV6 4
Had Toyo proxes T1-S on my mk2 16V, nice tyres, as acf8181 says- very progressive, and good in the wet......
BigSi 0
Got the new Toyo T1-Rs on mine (new replacement for the T1-S) paid £79 a corner (fitted, balanced, new valves)They are a very similar to the T1-S, but have a band running round the edge of the tyre. This is supposed to stiffen the tyre to improve cornering. I think you would notice this more on deeper profile tyres like 50 & 55's.I like them a lot, very progressive in all conditions if you ask me!Michelin Pilot SX's were on the car when I bought it and the T1-R's are a massive improvement.Spoke to a guy with an MR2 who had just gone for T1-S's to T1-R's and he thought there was a definite improvement.Have a friend with a Sunny GTi-R and his T1-S's have done over 12K (with approx 1K left on them). Which isn't bad - cos he doesn't drive slow!!!
