thegoth 5
my spends: this year with a passanger to split car costs, camping, food & drink and a couple of laps came in at £250. year before solo, hotel with 8 laps was more like £550 all in.
Jamesr_VR6 0
well thats not to bad, im sure camping will be cheaper than a hotel, i'll budget for around £450Shant be telling the missus though as im supposd to be paying for a holiday to Zante next year haha
Ben U 0
Always budget slightly more just to be safe. Things like getting the car ready and recovery really bump up the price. Also always go with as much cash as you can, try not to skimp on car preperation at all if you can help it. If you have anything wrong the 'ring will highlight it. Well worth it though!! thegoth 5
good point. my costs don't include breakdown cover, vehicle or human, as I've got year policies for both
Jamesr_VR6 0
Thats cool,Im about 90% at buying sophies (AKA Miss-VW) Valver, i opted against it before due to it being a 1994 reg and a noisy tappet, but it transpires the engine is obd2 and she wil sort the tappet so hopefully that will be sorted soon yippee!! Ben U 0
Definitely, if you are into cars (presumably you are being on a car forum!!) then you will be in heaven and will be cancelling your holiday, getting rid of the misses and making the most of the time out there!
Jamesr_VR6 0
hahaha well i wouldnt go as far as cancelling the holiday, or getting rid of the missus, she can pay for it and ill pay her back some other date,Will deffo make the msot of it, have already made an itinerary list on my work computer to print out so i can check everything off as i go (short of cash so will take months to assemble!)
Ben Seabrook 4
the only thing you need to pre-book is the ferry crosing which is about £50 at the mo and everything else can be saved for so you have months left !!
Jamesr_VR6 0
I'll probably get the ferry booked out of decembers pay, depends how much i have left over from Xmas shopping out of novembers pay.i also need to think about servicing and stuff so the cars up to the task for the Ring, may have to hold of modifying until after april and concentrate on reliability!!!Looking at the meet times for the midlands lot going down to thurrock looks a bit of a mission!! gotta be there at 3:45am or summat??????? mental
