[moved] VR6 spark plug and individual coil pack removal

HELP!!!! I have vehicle with a 2001 VR6 engine fitted. The ignition is via individual coil packs that are attached to the top of each spark plug. They look and feel fragile. How do I remove them to change plugs without causing damage? I have been on to VW main dealer who has not been helpful. They dont sell a specialist tool and say they havent ever changed plugs in the VR6 engine of this type as fitted to Sharan, Alhambra and Galaxy, which I find hard to believe.

Please help someone asap, am supposed to be driving to spain on tuesday!! Cheers dazza &| &|

To help, there are no HT leads, just hard wired to individual coil packs. Ford have been no help either, I phoned pretending to be my local garage asking for advice and they said do rest of service and forget about plugs as they last 40 to 50,ooo miles!!!!

Hi guys! My car has a misfire between 2-3k Rpm and when I turn right for some reason if Im accelerating around roundabouts etc - Its really annoying on motorways because if Im cruising in any gear between 2-3k Rpm the car starts juddering and I lose power - I have to take it out of gear, rev it and then its ok & it might not happen for a while. It sounds like its something silly & electrical! Coil pack?

I found this thread - sounds like the same engine? si/non?

Read it, the following text is from there:

...If you want to pull these suckers out, remove the wiring harness with the little clip (just use your fingers to squeeze the top of the clip thingy open and pull - POP!) ...and then pull up on the coilpacks. If they've been in there a while you can rotate them a little to get them loose and then pull them straight out, they will come. They fit onto the spark plugs pretty much the same way that your old HT leads used to. Just a snap-on dealy.
