ColinT 0
Hi guysFitted a Schrick manifold to my VR today which was pretty easy due to the excellent guide on here Appears to be working ok, getting a green light on the control box, it's turning red as it's supposed to at high revs and the flap is opening. Car starts fine and runs smoothly.Took the car for a short run on a nearby B road and I'm a little disappointed in the difference. Definately feels a little livelier around 3k rpm but only slightly, I was expecting a shove in the back.Is this normal? Based on the tales I've heard about this manifold I was expecting more. Hoping to get Stealth to remap the car soon, will I notice much of an improvement after a remap?Cheers
NowVR6 0
Had one fitted on mine a couple of months ago, I'm not getting a shove in the back either, but wasn't really expecting one. It certainly does the 80-100mph spurt much better, and I've also found if I can keep the motorway cruising at about 80 I get 33-34 on the MFA rather than the pre-Schrick 28-29, unexpected bonus! VR6Pete 1,455
A remap is needed really to make the most of it.
Miss-Vw 2
So just a decent remap would be needed after the fitting? Im saving up for my schrick and dont particularly want to be dissapointed after spending £1500+ :-P
VR6Pete 1,455
defiantly needs a remap IMO.might as well stick some cams in there too before the remap for that extra punch.my lump was pushing 212BHP after the schrick + remap.

Rikki 2
Probably worth re-setting the throttle body, disconnect the battery, re-connect then leave ignition on for 3 mins the start and leave on tickover for 3 mins! Just so the ecu can learn the new parameters!

Doesn't feel a lot stronger at the top end but will try and get it rr'd soon.
J5KE F 0
I had a schrick on my 1st Vr, u can feel the difference but if u really want to feel a kick the f/I potter style for £1500 has to be the way forward. I'm now on my 5th vr6 derived project and f/I is the best £/lb increase, the problem is u just want more!
