bryhp 0
I Have just bought a 1996 VR6 project car currently have engine out to replace head gasket for Mk4 version to up compression. Bought car as an auto but would like to convert to manual. has anyone done this? Is it a straight swap or is there other work involved apart from obvious such as pedal box and clutch setup?Any info would be greatThanks
Antihero1981 8
Na can be done ! but why? i love my auto , use the overdrive gears in manual!! nice and torque....putting 300bhp through the standard auto gearbox so far!

vr6turbo 27
i ended up coverting mine cause the turbo wore it out and it was cheaper to convert to manual£1200 for an auto rebuildit was fun though
Antihero1981 8
just buy a few spare auto gearboxes...lol thats why i went charger and not turbo , the sudden boost recks havoc on the gearbox , !!!
bryhp 0
fairly straght forward only annoying thing is the snap bolts.. but only take 2 mins to drill out. engine is almost ready to go back in just waiting on 6 branch, have had head fully ported and polished. And inlet is almost finished to. so can move onto suspension next.
