acf8181 0
thinks its 6 litres...will check, one moment
acf8181 0
wrong, 10 litres! wow!would be amazed if 2.9 is any different. you prob wont get 10 litres in tho, they'll prob be up to a litre left in there that wont have drained out.i'm actually using vauxhall coolnat/antifreeze in mine, got fed up of buying expensive stuff from vauxhall and then something going wrong and loosing the lot. has been much better with the vauxhall stuff, only a couple of minor leaks. maybe its allergic to vw coolant! lol[ Edited Tue Nov 16 2004, 11:05PM ]

shail 0
Thanks 8181. I'll be there all day putting 10L into it!
binliner 0
cool (no pun intended!) just wondered because I replaced my pink coolant with blue... which means because of the stain left by the pink the header tank looks almost black!
shail 0
binliner - there is a difference - your not supposed to mix them. They use different additives to inhibit corrosion. IF mixed they wont work. Also coolant can be car specific depending on what materials are used for the block & seals. go to http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/faq.htm?id=41 and read the hepfull advice. mightyvr6 0
You can mix g11 and g12+ but not g11 with g12 afaik.[ Edited Wed Nov 17 2004, 12:24AM ]
binliner 0
I drained the system and refilled it with new stuff... that'll be ok won't it?
shail 0
arrrgggghh. just bought shit loads of the wrong coolant. Bought G12 instead of G12+. I have heard some very bad things about mixing G12 with anything but G12 coolant. Back to bleedin shop for me then.
