On cold mornings, why does the VR sound like a milk float till it warms up. If its normal youll know what i mean.2. I seem to have a constant sssshhhh sound coming from the engine. Rises and falls with engine speed and most noticeable around 1500 revs in 1st (as engine noise drowns it out at other times). It just seems to make the engine sound harsh...Any ideas people? :? julesz 0 Posted November 11, 2004 Author Report Share Posted November 11, 2004 Doesnt go away with clutch in. you can hear it when revving in neutral. Sounds a bit like belt noise (not slipping). Thought it might be the ribbed belt but changed that and regreased the tensioner pully and no different. Link to post Share on other sites
shail 0 Posted November 11, 2004 Report Share Posted November 11, 2004 I get the milk float noise in the mornings when its cold, i've heard it on 2 cars now so i think its normal.As for the shhhh noise...may be auxillary water pump getting old? attached to the top right corner of the engine (battery side). SOunds like a car does when the battery is really flat and its desperately trying to recharge itself. Battery is fine though... maybe just alternator... Link to post Share on other sites
