OLD HIPPY 0
Being new to VR6's I'm not used to all the "right" noises.Question is- When the engine is cold there is a "whirring " noise on start up, this decreases as the engine gets warm.As a motorcycle technician I could take an educated guess at it being the cam chain but I would have thought it would be rattly when cold going quieter as the engine expands as it gets warm.Any ideas would be appreciated. *-)
shail 0
What sort of whirring? On cold days my engine sounds a bit like a milk float until its got some heat in it. Always been this way.

OLD HIPPY 0
Thanks for the replies, at least it doesn't seem unusual. The technician in me wants to know what the cause is so I will investigate further and try and post a definative answer to the problem.
