fritzenberg 3
i've noticed the price of a mk3 golf vr6 has dropped like a fecking stone, you can get them for under £1500 some ever under a grang wtf?? i thought golfs held their value pretty well? was one of the reasons a bought one ( 5 years ago for 4 grand ).is this all down to this "credit crunch" or all this trendy eco-friendly nonsence,or is the mk3 vr6 just viewed as a crap old shed now or what??was gonna spend some cash on tunning mine up a bit but i don't know anymore :-( two of my mate have subarus by the way and they're trying to convert me to the "dark side" and tell me to sell my golf before it becomes worthless.all this is quite depressing

mike 6
4grand 5 years ago was a decent price for then to be honest if you lose a grand or two when you sell it does it really matter, compared to people who buy brand new (decent) cars thats peunuts to what youd lose in that time.... golfgirlvr6 0
I do think that people sell their cars for what they are worth to them! If they put a lot of time and money into it, then they'll most likely want it back, but if there car was a normal every day run around with no care and attention paid to it, then they wont ask a lot for it! People will buy a car for a lot of money if its exactly what they are looking for! Just the way i see the prices of cars!
bulldog 2
Buy yourself a Bentley continental or Aston Martin and you'll loose half it's value in under 2 years, and thats sh*t loads of cash to loose, so on that scale you ain't doing bad at all.
Jk* 0
two of my mate have subarus by the way and they're trying to convert me to the "dark side" and tell me to sell my golf before it becomes worthless.all this is quite depressingSubaru's arent worth sh*t either anymore. You can pick up a turbo for 1800. Stick with the VR mate, you know it makes sense. I bought my Passat V6 about 4 months ago for 2600 and now you can get one for 1800. Typical. Lol. bulldog 2
Think of it this way, if your car goes down in value it ain't just your car it's everybody elses car to and their house withthe credit crunch helping them, if you sell your VR6 what ever you buy will be cheaper.I sold the Mrs Alfa 156 last week and didn't to bad on it, we bought it October 2004 so 50 months ago and got £2500 less for it which aint bad for an Alfa or any car really, I always bank on loosing a £1k on a car a year as not being to bad, so if yo buy a VR6 for £1500 and not modify it just run it and service it for 2 years and sell it for £500 you've come out a winner.Worse car i had for depreciation was a M3, it cost me £15k and a year later struggled to sell it, after months of not selling it went for £10k
Seademon 0
Their subaru's will be worthless aswell soon enough! You can pick them up for £1500 - £2k aswell. The Golf will be worth keeping when/if the new tax bands are applied to cars newer than 2001. Your gonna lose money on any car you buy, just dont worry about it - just have fun.
