GOLF MK4 1.9 GT TDI 150 buying advise

hi im going to look at a GOLF MK4 1.9 GT TDI 150 2002 100k mileage tmr,

any tips on what to look out for or common problems?

Tappets shatter on these. The ones to go for are the gttdi 130s.

i thought the engine is the same just a bigger turbo

on the 150 i would go for the 130 as slightly cheaper

and can still put revo chip to add 40 + bhp

let us know how u get on as i thinking of the GT TDI 130

check when cam belt was done, and general stuff like that, center box brackets break all the time chak that, to fix ur lookin around £100 from wot i remember ... err apart from that good motors

Check the usual MK4 stuff like

1)Broken rear springs at the bottom of the pig tail

2)Craking/Creaking Anti roll bar bushes

3)Faulty Cooling Fans!!! Put the A/C on and the fans should run constantly on slow speed, If the pulse on & off fast speed then new fans are needed and they are £££. (Only 150's not 130)

4)Clicking from Glovebox can be faulty heater positiong motor. Pain in the arse to do

5)Check the carpets for water as front door carriers can leak

6)History on window lifter replacement as common failure

7) Worn Camshafts and broken tappets (The noise is reaaly bad when these have gone)
