sparkyjr 0
I have a mk3 gti with a carrado vr lump but have the problem where the wheels rub on the arches. Does any one know if vr wings have wider arches so the wheels would sit in them better,as i realy like my wheels and ride hight? please help with my first problem.
J5KE F 0
I dont think theres any difference in wings at all..just get your arches rolled at your nearest body shop or attempt it yourself..? I am led to believe its a bit of an art without the corrct tools..
binliner 0
VR arches are no different. Possible solutions would be either getting the arches rolled (and maybe pulled a bit if necessary) or getting slightly narrower tyres to tuck under the arches better (I got rid of rubbing by changing from 205/40/17 to 195/40/17)As you haven't mentioned what size or offset wheels, what size tyres, what suspension etc it's hard to offer better advice
sparkyjr 0
Sorry i have 17 215/40 and not sure what suspention i have that is my job for 2day, also thought about cabering them in abit to sit them in the arches.
binliner 0
You still don't say how wide your wheels are or what offset but on the info supplied looks to me like 205/40/17 or 195/40/17 tyres would help solve the problem... 215s are too wide (unless they're 9J rims)
Mackenzie 6
Ive got 7.5j wide with 215/40/17's on and they rub like s**t on the back bumper. Its ok on the front, but ive only got 60/40 sport suspension, so the front is a little higher. You do have to drive it really slow on bumpy roads though even without people in the back.I would put the 205's on imo.
sparkyjr 0
the rear arches have been roled and is slightly higher on rear but realy only rubs when i corner.I dont know the offset but do know they are 99 s3 wheels avus. still also dont know if the carrado drive gear is wider there for putting the wheels out wider?
