binliner 0
sorry do you mean any differeces between the german and UK? probably not although if anything it might be a slightly better spec. www.uk-mkivs.net is the place to ask
pimpcat 0
any reason why u r gettin an import nd not just a gti tdi 150? or even a gt tdi 150?
blackmagicvr 7
yea, this perticular car has only done very low miles, plus the spec is also a lot better than the uk models from what people are saying,on the back of the car it just says gti in silver.

vdubgirl 3
My Mk4 is a TDI 150 and is a wicked car.Pro'sGet it revo'd and your looking at BHP and torque figures higher than a VR6 and you will still get over 40mpg!If is 2002 or younger you will get cheap tax I pay £115 a year for mine!Cons - You'll miss driving a revvy petrol car if your used to a VR6 What specfic infomation are you after? blackmagicvr 7
basically what info im after is that because its an import, you give car parts places the reg and it comes up as incoplete vrm eg/no engine code,so are all the bits the same as a uk one?and yea the tax is £115 for a year, from my insurnce quote its a group
vdubgirl 3
As far as I am aware most import cars are mechanically the same as UK built cars.My mum owns a imported V plate polo which the preious owner had built to order from Holland! We dont generally have any problems getting parts for it. But sometime like you say some of the car places computer systems dont pick up the number plate.
blackmagicvr 7
thanx very much for the info, had a test drive in it today god what a powerfull diesel, doesent seem far off the vr power standard, but with a remap dam that would be a quick car, picking it up next thursday after some work gets done to it. patpong_pete 0
blackmagicvrdid u pick your new car up yetif so hows it compared to vri thinkimg of the diesel myselfdid u save much with import?is it 130 or 150 bhp and what chip will un put in the car
blackmagicvr 7
hi pete, picking up the car 150 bhp thursday 20th,from what i drove of it on the test drive it aint far off from the power of the vr6 or the 4 motion, and ive owned both, but i think with the chip in it (if and when i do it) it will wipe the floor with both vrs, upto about 120mph but how many of us do that everyday?more power but with less running costs eg-tax and fuel makes sence to me,i think i have saved about £1500 compared with the uk model with the relevent mileage, plus also the import is a much better spec, the only thing i will miss is the noise of the v6 but i will be a lot richer in the pocket.regards jon.
