MarkGolf 6
Anyone running one of these??Any real advantages to getting one?My contact in the states said I can get myself one for £110!Worth doing?
mightyvr6 0
It doesn't actually do very much unless combined with a lightened flywheel which makes the engine rev quicker, reduces drivetrain loss and therefore increases acceleration. Probably is worth doing if you are doing the flywheel as well but otherwise not worth it.
MarkGolf 6
Flywheel is being lightened and balanced...Sorted then!
eViL 0
Think you'll find the crank pulley WILL make a huge difference to acceleration without any flywheel work.Awsome actually do a complete set of Neuspeed Pulleys for all the ancilliaries and the crank. Not cheap, but probably worth it.
mightyvr6 0
I can't see the lightened pulley doing much in isolation (it isn't an underdrive pulley just a lightened one) but the lightened flywheel definitely makes a difference.
Hiten 0
i have the unorthodox pulleys on my car, 3 piece set. the unorthodoxcrank pulley weighs nothing compared to the oem one as it weighs the same as a brick.my carnk pulley is underdriven which makes it smaller in diameter comapred to oem one which is no good for those with superchargers as you'll get lower boost. six appeal 53
Mark, I've had one for ages, but never fitted it due to some peeps saying it can cause problems. Spoke to both Vince and Phatty and various other peeps on the forum (seem to remember posting on here) and got various answers?

MarkGolf 6
Simon, what pulley is it?Don't think the Turn2 is underdrivene, so will be cool when/if the charger goes on..I'll prob by it off ya as it saves my mate shippin it from the u.s...The pulley is defo being used with a lightened and balanced fly.. six appeal 53
Its from an independant manufacturer, had a bunch of them made up a few years ago along with some other VR friends. Allegedly they are identical copies of the Turn2 ones ;o)Always handy to be in the engineering business ;o)
MarkGolf 6
Swing one my way then How mooch?
MarkGolf 6
Just guna get the turn2 one with my pistons...QuoteCNC and lighten aluminum crank pulley for ANY VW VR6 car. This aluminum pulley is more than 5.5 lbs lighter than the heavy OEM (6 lb13.2oz) pulley. The Turn2 pulley will give you 4+ wheel hp, increased throttle response, faster revs and a butter smooth drive train. You will experience the benefits of this upgrade during the first casual drive. There is no second guessing regarding if "it actually works".The Turn2 pulley is produced on a 7 axis CNC machine, finished in OEM dimensions. Other brands are done on a simple mill. Supercharged car will benefit greatly from this upgrade with no loss in boost! The second generation pulleys now comes with the pulley "key" pre-installed, for a true bolt on installation. six appeal 53
Look a lot nicer than the ones I had machined up Mark to be honest and there almost the same price!
Hiten 0
as my crank shaft one is slightly smaller the power steering one is slightly bigger to compensate. i've had no problems with mine and it revs much better.
